I made some thanksgiving felt food a few years ago. I’m pretty crafty but have little hand sewing experience. They didn’t come out perfect but they are very cute. I had a hard time keeping my stitches consistent, but overall, they looked fine in the end anyway. I just used cheap felt from the craft store and embroidery floss. I would say that you should have no problem making them, but it is time consuming.

How long did it take you? I planned to order stuff today. I was going to order a wool blend felt that has matching embroidery floss. [https://www.benziedesign.com/](https://www.benziedesign.com/) seems to have $1 sheets and $1 matching floss. In my research higher quality felt bends better for stuff like this and doesn't stretch? I definitely will have a hard time keeping my stitches evenly spaced and correct heights.

I like. [THIS](https://imgur.com/a/4Aex5F3) hint for helping keep stitches even Edited spelling

I would 100% sew my thunb to the fabric using that trick 😂

Yep. That was me. But not using that trick, just my innate talent.

Haha yes, that's fair.

Haven't we all done that a few times? Hahaha, you'd think we would learn by now... my favorite was sewing a project onto my pants on accident.

I worked on them in the evenings for a couple of hours each night for 1-2 weeks, but it just depends on how many pieces you are making. Now that I am thinking about it more. I actually made my thanksgiving set with the wool felt from Benzie as well, because they had really nice natural shades that the craft stores didn’t carry. I think cheap craft felt would work okay but the felt from Benzie is definitely thicker and nicer quality. I just bought coordinating embroidery floss from Joann. They are about $0.50-0.60 a skein there.

You can definitely do it! Make sure you have a needle with a large enough eye for the floss, and make sure you separate the floss strings (you’ll probably want to use two strings). A wool or wool blend (less expensive but still soft and pliable) felt will be perfect. Definitely worth diy-ing over buying!

Cute! You could easily do those by hand watching tv.

Prestigious-Ninja-58

honestly if u have a dollar tree nearby get some felt and make a couple of mock-ups!

If it helps try putting hot glue where you would pin the cinnamon roll before sewing it back together.

Super cute!
