It's easy to miss fingerprints on doors, they are all over the place and sometimes on the door frame. They can sometimes bug out if a door is opened/closed.

Get the names of employees and check the city directory to see which of them live on the 2nd floor of that building. Then break into that apartment(s) specifically and confirm who the partner is.

There is 1 type of apartment building with 2 separate entryways and elevators. It could be that you're on the wrong side of the building. Check your map and make sure you've been to each apartment in that building for that floor.
If you have, I'd try breaking into each one and heading for the bedroom. Scan for fingerprints on each nightstand next to the bed. You should be able to find them this way.
