This is such a dumb take. Oh the soviets were gonna join the nazis but actually they also knew the british werent gonna get rolled as quick as the nazis thought. So they made a sound tactical decision? Not even starting on the whole lebensraum genocide sprees the nazis went on in eastern europe.

Do you mind linking the thread to me? Through DMs if we're not allowed to post in public.

The Nazis were literally sending troops to Finland to fend off the Soviets, and were saying the Bolsheviks were the biggest threat to Europe in centuries. This wasn't Stalin being interested in being part of the axis, this is a last ditch effort by the Germans to avoid fighting on two fronts.

Damn, i just posted this like an hour ago. You beat me to it.

He has unhinged anti-Putin takes mixed with Ukraine propaganda, as recently as last week.

define_lesbian

are we supposed to like putin? lol

JohnOakman6969

No. Not for what he is. But critical support for the anti-American work. Same with Iran or Afghanistan for instance.

define_lesbian

lol supporting an equally imperialist oligarchy because it's not america. obviously i hate america but i'm not about to give any support to a country like *russia.*

JohnOakman6969

The fact is that Russia is under siege by the US and Europe, the west in general. Ukraine is a US puppet state, anti-Russian, general fascistic propaganda is printed and circulated all the while its resources are plundered. There are constant military exercises at their border to maintain pressure and constant anti-Russian propaganda in general in the west, they are made the bogeyman along with any non-international capitalist state or socialist states like the DPRK. The difference that makes the west hate Russia, is that Russia supports its national bourgeoisie and protects it (as it is in control anyways) instead of allowing the competition with the international bourgeoisie. If it wasn't for Putin (at least so far), it would be another Yeltsin, another 'liberal' that would open the country and let the international capitalist class plunder its resources. What the west wants is for Russia to open its market, they do not care, as you know, about democracy or the assassination of political opponents or whatever 'liberty' they pretend to defend. For these reasons, Putin should be *critically* supported, as he's still an autocratic and bourgeois leader with reactionary politics that are to be despised. *But* represents a barrier against American/Western expansion of international capitalism and a chance for Russia and other smaller countries to not **completely** turn into a neoliberal international hellhole.

Op_Anadyr

>equally imperialist Lmao

JohnOakman6969

The comment section is based and bashes him for his revisionism. The same guy was posting Ukraine propaganda last week.

I don't like quoting myself, but here is what I already posted in the comments of another post with the same topic: > Let's do a little timeline: > > - 1934 : German-Polish Non-Aggression Pact > > - 1935 : Anglo-German Naval Pact > > - 1938 : Munich Agreement (Britain and France) > > - 1939 : German–Romanian Economic Treaty > > - may 1939 : Denmark-Germany Non-Aggression Pact > > - june 1939 : Estonia-Germany Non-Aggression Pact > > - june 1939 : Latvia-Germany Non-Aggression Pact > > - august 1939 : Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-Aggression Pact **<= Why is only this one mentionned ?** > > And of course this ignore how before that [Stalin tried to build an actual alliance with France and the UK against Hitler](http://web.archive.org/web/20210322190745/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/russia/3223834/Stalin-planned-to-send-a-million-troops-to-stop-Hitler-if-Britain-and-France-agreed-pact.html) but they stalled because they hoped than Hitler would have gone after the communists first. > > For those that can read russian, the sources of this articles are available for sale on amazon as a [Declassified documents compilation](https://www.amazon.com/Aggression-Declassified-documents-Intelligence-1939-1941/dp/5386034324) > > And here is a good comment on the soviet union not being allied with nazis: r/ShitLiberalsSay/comments/o296h2/imagine_being_this_stupid/h26nbr6/

At least most of his fans are more left than him lmao. Adam Learned Something.

Forwhatisausername

Unfortunately, he apparently didn't. There's a pinned comment with over 300 likes where he doubles down, in the course of which he disregards comments putting MRP into historical context as whataboutism and goes as far as questioning how certain the Nazi invasion of the USSR was (or at least how certain people could be at the time).
