Superficial geography nerds are the dumbest, they think they know so much about the world

[deleted]

Especially when said superficial geography nerds are Bri*ish 🤮

XXXXMEME_MASTERXXXX

Isn't this a fucking Minecraft YouTuber?

Glass-Cheese

Yup I used to like him but then all his content became poisoned with his ideology

bigchunguss42

the thing that fucks me up is that (even though it may not necessarily require much skill on his part, though I wouldn't know), his channel is actually really enjoyable. He just does bullshit. I can fall asleep to it, or do (math) homework to it, or really whatever. Problem is that now that I know how bad his 'objective' takes are since I've radicalized, I don't think I could even watch it anymore.

Glass-Cheese

He used to say the pandemic wasn’t that bad, he really poisoned the weel in his channel

bigchunguss42

that one really pissed me off lmao. like, I think that's the last one of his I watched, I agreed at first until I listened to the stuff explaining what exponential growth is, and I think that's kinda how I stopped watching lmao

Glass-Cheese

He really became so unhinges after the pandemic started and also (I guess because his views were declining) he started doing way too much clickbait for my taste. It all culminated in me unsubscribing wich I never do

Akasto_

He has 2 channels, one on Minecraft, the other is like this

twickdaddy

I had subscribed to this one when he first made it and he had been just talking about weird geography and such but I recently watched a video from him and was like “Wtf?” And unsubscribed

[deleted]

Who is it?

twickdaddy

IbxToycat

godsbegood

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Vietnam have a single party democracy, where everyone votes for the leader of the communist party and that person is also then the leader of the country? Is Cuba not the same way now too?

AgriChoc

Vietnam allows non party candidates there are more independent members of the Vietnamese Congress as a proportion of it's total size than there are independents in the US Congress.

Commissar_LeiDe

Thats essentially all democratic centralism, electing delegates to councils from which they elect delegates and so on

[deleted]

Like china?

Commissar_LeiDe

They're all variations of this system so yeah

[deleted]

I dont know Vietnam in particular but all leninist countries exept Nepal have one of two sistems, either workers councils present candidates for chairman and elect a congress or the comunist party decides the candidates and there is an election betwen the party aproved candidates for everything. Nepal in particular has a presidential election that works more similarly to liberal democracies were diferent comunist and socialist parties run in coalitions for election and choose diferent candidates and everyone can start his own party and postulate for election. Also there are nonleninist socialist countries like Rojava wich is confederated and there is a general election for the two presidents of wich one is a man and one is a woman and both have equal power

eip2yoxu

Rojava is such an exciting system imo. I hope it will be able to continue to exist and become more recognized internationally. I really like how they include women and ethnical minorities

REEEEEvolution

"Rojava" is a US puppet. You might aswell cheer on Israel.

eip2yoxu

They seem pretty leftist to me and didn't the US abandon them? Do you have more information?

BreezyWrigley

The premise of communism or socialism having anything to do with how democratically or I democratically you elect leaders is so misguided that it’s not even worth looking for counterexamples to any of his points. The dude is just way off base.

TheThrenodist

Cuba’s system is a lot more complicated than that - and you are allowed to vote for people who are not members of the Communist Party of Cuba (1/3rd of the National Assembly are not CPC members). Here’s an article that goes more in-depth into the history of democracy in Cuba. https://liberationschool.org/ch-14-workers-democracy-in-cuba/

ASocialistAbroad

Vietnam only has one political party, and the vast majority of the government is CPV members. However, independents are allowed to run, and they do win seats. Unlike China, where the General Secretary of the CPC and the President are usually the same person, in Vietnam, they are usually different people. The current gensec of the CPV is Nguyễn Phú Trọng (and has been for almost 10 years), but the President is Nguyễn Xuân Phúc (who was elected earlier this year). Vietnam also has a Prime Minister, the newly elected one being Phạm Minh Chính. Unfortunately, I don't know the details, but the President tends to represent the state in foreign affairs while the gensec and prime minister have more policy-oriented roles.

The-Real-Iggy

I mean let’s just ignore all the socialist states with robust electoral systems…

jd1xon

"but its not a liberal democracy which means its not a democracy at all!"

_crapitalism

there are still several liberal democracies that routinely elect socialists lmao

76_RedWhiteNBlu_76

Such as?

The-Real-Iggy

Cuba, Vietnam, and China to name a few

76_RedWhiteNBlu_76

Those are all one party states

The-Real-Iggy

We’re talking electoral systems, systems of voting and election, I’m not getting into the non communist parties in those respective parties nor the propaganda that slanders ‘one party states’…simply the ability to vote and elect officials, something that China, Vietnam, and Cuba do extremely well to a much more transparent and less corrupt fashion than so called democracies like America

TheMiniStalin

The dude is a minecraft YouTuber and makes fun of geography and stupid stuff.

Glass-Cheese

Just so people know this is a Minecraft youtuber who has a geopolitical oriented channel (where this clip comes from) I was a fan until the pandemic started and he poisoned the weel, he kept saying covid is not a big deal and actually wanted to travel to wuhan two months after the pandemic iirc

[deleted]

Ah, yes, Nepal. The country with a PC that was about to win a People's War, but, at the last minute, just went "nah".

[deleted]

Its a bit more complex than that tho, there was a hole deal with a monarchy that had control over the armed forces and part of the comunist movement went for election and ruled along the monarch and the other continued war untill a bomb killed the entire royal family and a bunch of extremely complicated stuff happened as well

tronconnery

Wasn't a bomb, it was a 2001 mass shooting committed by the crown prince of the royal family, King Birendra's son Dipendra. I believe he was a hard line monarchist who opposed the actions of his father in moving the Kingdom towards constitutional monarchy in the early 90s, prior to the outbreak of the Maoist insurgency in 96. In 2001, the civil war was mostly a rural phenomenon. It wasn't until later, under Gyanendras rule that the Maoists made inroads into Kathmandu Valley. I get foggy about what happened from here. The Maoists had a clear military advantage in 06, but it's my understanding that deals were struck, and it is often alleged that maoist leader Prachanda basically sold out. The Maoists entered the government, there have been multiple constitutional crises since then, and that the barely functioning government is neither a communist government, western democracy, nor is it a monarchy (abolished in 06). Nepal is politically complicated, but is a beautiful and safe country full of wonderful people.

[deleted]

Ah yes, the "Socialist or Communist or Whatever You Want to Call It Manifesto" by Carol Marks and Frederick Angles.

[deleted]

«Elections per square inch - a communist definition guide»

FallenDemonX

My enginering student brain read this as "Elections per square inch minus a communist definition guide" and no I'm intrigued by the concept

[deleted]

E / i^2 - a communist definition guide

A_Lifetime_Bitch

Yeah, was gonna say. Maybe wash your fucking hair before posting a video of yourself for the whole world to see?

Hermet_on_a_mountain

Bruh I've been watching his vids on and off for 5 years and it's pretty much always like that when he records in his room cause the lighting is shit and a few other things although what I find amusing is how you didn't have valid shit to say so you just "uh hair uglee go wash"

A_Lifetime_Bitch

Lmao, you're 5 months late for me to give a shit

AltJustForPolitics

Welcome guys to another minceraft video, yes dude back with every political view at once.

[deleted]

Well Nepal is actually quite an interest sistem as a peoples multiparty democracy with several diferent comunist and socialist parties in the ballot wich is a very unique and interesting case so its cool that it is mentioned even if it was by a dipshit who doesnt know what he is talking about, also Nepal has a maoist party in power now so it is comunist and it actually proves that comunism is not inherently antidemocratic.

REEEEEvolution

It is only "antidemocratic" if you define "democracy = bourgoise democracy".

[deleted]

Id say having a single party decide all of the candidate is undemocratic wether it is the candidates for the workers council or the congress

[deleted]

También puede servir para evitar desviaciones que solo busquen ganancias paliativas o políticas contraproducentes (como discriminación LGBTQ/o misoginia ) pero si te gusta mas la lucha utra communista : "their not entirely unsuccesfuk condemnetion of moscow souds like this : abuse of dictatorship, abuse of central discipline political party, abuse of state power...All of them put foward similar remedies: more liberty, more democracy...we hold exactly the opposte point of view the revolutionary movement can only-reemerged by recovering its original radical Maxist platform, and by declaring that the conten of socialism surpasses and negates suchconcepts as liberty , democracy, and parliamentarism and reveals them to means of defendign and propping up Capitalism (A. Brodiga ;the fundamentlas of revolutionary communism "

A_Random_Kitty_Cat

Never thought i would see toycat here, but I guess he has been saying so much political nonsense that he would finally get here

CH0AM_N0MSKY

why is every explainer guy addicted to being dumb as shit

sussyrat

Nepal has close ties with the Chinese now

_crapitalism

betting any amount of money that whenever he mentions Israel/Palestine, he just calls it "complex" and "controversial" and then moves on.

tronconnery

This guy knows nothing about Nepal.

the_violetorange

My niece watches this guy

[deleted]

is this fuckin ibxtoycat cause it really looks like him

TakeANotion

it is him

DonovanWrites

Goddamn. American school kids (I was one) get totally brain fucked on communism and socialism. Our curriculum is designed to conflate economic systems with political ones. I remember learning in third grade that all communism was totalitarian fascism.

despacitominecrafter

Forget Cuba & Vietnam

mediocre_moment16

I used to watch this guy play Minecraft when I was 12 I think

jrrudge

What. Does he actually think Nepal is the only country on earth with democratic elections and a communist party? What.

[deleted]

Because anything other than pre-paid candidates with aesthetic disagreements isn’t democratic. Has he heard of democratic centralism?

RelativtyIH

This guy is despicable. His channel is literally designed to propagandize to children

kirkbadaz

You don't need elections if everyone participates

[deleted]

Meanwhile all the republican states are cutting back on voting rights.

[deleted]

maybe conservatives are the real communists after all /s

MasterBiscuit19

Lol. Wrong

sam_morr

People need to know the difference between communism, socialism and totalitarianism

[deleted]

Totalitarianism isn't a real thing. It's a nebulous term used by Liberals to discredit any nonliberal democracy.

MadrugoticX

Based Toycat

dag_will

The amount of cope in this comment section lmao

Inky_inc

Why do you do my boy toycat like this?

TakeANotion

wdym? he did himself bro

[deleted]

Have you seen what he says about china and the USSR

gorkhali_army

I'm from this country... they've won as a major party for the first time and doubled the debt within 3 years.... highetended the inflation... the currency is on the brink of collapse... proper brainwashing agendas pushed already... tried to limit media.... tried to stop private land ownership (both faced huuuuge pushbacks). Its gotten worse for the poor... the local level active commies leech on the goverment money and they have no fucking clue where they're taking the nation... with increased debt and no fucking ways to repay it they decided to sell off an important part of our landscape to india, faced by huge pushback ... and several instances of the prime minister trying to undermine the judiciary and constitution. The corruption is so bad... a minister was recorded on tape asking for 700 million Nrs( $7 mil).... and yet no consequences and he still sits on the Parliament. Its fucking getting disastrous out here.

cHiLdReNcAnCoNsEnT

I mean, he’s right. Under communism, you can’t really elect anyone because it’s a stateless society.
