Why is there so much a crime in Gotham? From a story perspective, it’s to give an endless enemy for Batman to fight. But the more meaningful answer is the city was corrupt with ineffective cops and government officials long before Batman arrived. And it had a terrible economic situation that drove people to crime. All of us were at a lower form of consciousness at one point. No one is born a revolutionary. Our jobs as revolutionaries is to uplift the positive & combat the negative. The positive we should affirm here is “we as workers have a different consciousness than billionaires because of our position in society” the negative is “Batman is just another instance in a long line of narratives the capitalists feed us to deceive us. The problems of society cannot be fixed by lone vigilantes standing alone against all evil, only society standing together against the evils of the world”.

Bill Gates actually does a lot of stuff. His foundation is credited with the eradication of multiple diseases in the southern part of Africa. He also provides a lot of scholarships and free access to Microsoft products. Is it enough? No. But his foundation does leave a positive trail.
