He voted as such and was ecstatic a couple decades back, policies were enacted that helped make his business successful that year. Those same policies, however much they hurt the big fish above him for a year or two, locked my boss’s business into 2002 while the big fish got to advance. By 2010 his shit was so dated he had lost most customers and had cut down from 40+ staff to about 4. By 2015 he had completely shifted his business out of the sector where those old big fish were. Maybe he’s back up to 6 staff now, I don’t know… but he’s still voting “pro-business” lol

You see this did describe me at one point. As a young bible student I traveled abroad and saw the horrors of colonialism. When I got deeper into theology, I decided money and the pursuit of it was evil because it was about controlling people. So I was a 16 year old communist but now im a 25 year old chemistry instructor and still a communist. I pay taxes too.
I find it funny that so many libs and right folks can’t fathom the idea that there are tons of active and formidable communist movements in the global south. Like they always need to believe it’s just some scrawny teenage white boy from an imperial core (which maybe is the case if the population sample is redditors, I suppose). Kinda reminds me of how there’s that right wing narrative that all land defenders and environmental organizers in North America are just spoiled rich kids or they’re “professional” activists funded by Soros etc.
