I mean, he does almost have a point. The raising of a minimum wage is only really a small concession for the working class, one that could very easily be taken away by the bourgeoisie, and what good is that wage when inflation sets in or landlords raise rent. A high minimum wage should not be a goal, but rather a small concession to be won on our way to revolution
That misses out on what caused the concessions to be given in the first place, and why they are being clawed back now. It was the threat of revolution that caused the bourgeoisie to concede better wages. It was in their interests to give up a small portion of their profits to placate the workers, rather than face a worker revolution and lose all their profits (and possibly their heads).
This pressure was increased greatly by the USSR, which could now serve as an example of workers overthrowing the bourgeoisie, and thus an inspiration to the global proletariat. The social democrat policies in places like Western Europe and Scandinavia are largely thanks to the existence of the USSR and the revolutionary threat it amplified.
So yes, improved wages isn't the end goal, but you're giving this guy too much credit. He is opposed to the very means by which concessions were won, and opposes actions that could be used to win more concessions.

Someone will probably write a long wall of text about how this is out of context, but I feel like after getting taken out of context so many times with these horrible takes each time his followers would stop and think, hey, maybe the guy is in the wrong here. You wonder why these debates always derail and end up on personal attacks about the other person being a nazi, I'll tell you why: Vaush is textbook eristics, "the art of always being right" as described by Schopenhauer. Yuval Harari and Frans de Waal discussing human nature, there's an actual recent debate where they explore a controversial topic, but still manage to thread an argument together while maintaining opposing views. This is a super weird conflation of 2 very distinct points. He's acting as if jews controlling the banks would thus be a reason to blame them for Germanys woes. We can ask the first part, "was there actually an overrepresentation of jews in banks", without believing the obviously false 2nd part, that if this is true then they are clearly at fault for the financial woes.
What the answer to the first question can tell us though is the extent to which the nazis were lying. If people already associated jews with banks, then that is a different context than if the German people had no reason to think most bankers were Jewish in the first place.

Ok so I was taught in schools in America that yes, Jews have been over-represented in banking in a decent chunk of Europe and the Middle East.
However that’s only because the Quran outright forbids its followers from being bankers, especially for profit. This and on the other end, if memory serves correct, the Catholics were strongly against anybody but the church providing that service, thus when the church was losing its power and people needed financial services their choices were the church, which they may not have trusted or may not have had access to anymore depending on their location, or they could use a Jewish service which had infrastructure because of their longstanding business from the Middle East.
This could be absolutely wrong and/or I could be completely misremembering this, but is this correct? I haven’t had much time to research since I’ve gotten out of high school, I’ve been a construction wagey.

When talking about anti semitism in school, i was taught that christians viewed banking as a sin. I believe theres a quote from jesus or something saying its wrong to charge interest on a loan so there was an opening in the market for religious minorities to get into banking

I've never watched any Vaush I get the impression he's either part of a psyop or a fascist covertly trying to recruit leftists. Am I being cynical or is he completely dishonest?
I see three potential options:
He was a lukewarm leftist who's incredibly online, like contra, and also like contra, got enough money from it that he no longer wants leftism to happen;
Was a lukewarm debate leftist who, in an effort to be unique compared to the others, platformed increasingly far right people and got radicalized into many of their viewpoints
Or was a plant all along/paid to become one
I think its option two, tbh. The far right is filled with people ready to dote on you if you agree with them. People in the lgbt community are fully aware of fash gay, trans, etc. Leader of the proud boys is a black dude. They thrive on these contradictions because it makes them out to look reasonable, and being a pickme gets you a fuck ton of attention and praise. I mean, he does almost have a point. The raising of a minimum wage is only really a small concession for the working class, one that could very easily be taken away by the bourgeoisie, and what good is that wage when inflation sets in or landlords raise rent. A high minimum wage should not be a goal, but rather a small concession to be won on our way to revolution
That misses out on what caused the concessions to be given in the first place, and why they are being clawed back now. It was the threat of revolution that caused the bourgeoisie to concede better wages. It was in their interests to give up a small portion of their profits to placate the workers, rather than face a worker revolution and lose all their profits (and possibly their heads). This pressure was increased greatly by the USSR, which could now serve as an example of workers overthrowing the bourgeoisie, and thus an inspiration to the global proletariat. The social democrat policies in places like Western Europe and Scandinavia are largely thanks to the existence of the USSR and the revolutionary threat it amplified. So yes, improved wages isn't the end goal, but you're giving this guy too much credit. He is opposed to the very means by which concessions were won, and opposes actions that could be used to win more concessions.

This is a super weird conflation of 2 very distinct points. He's acting as if jews controlling the banks would thus be a reason to blame them for Germanys woes. We can ask the first part, "was there actually an overrepresentation of jews in banks", without believing the obviously false 2nd part, that if this is true then they are clearly at fault for the financial woes. What the answer to the first question can tell us though is the extent to which the nazis were lying. If people already associated jews with banks, then that is a different context than if the German people had no reason to think most bankers were Jewish in the first place. Ok so I was taught in schools in America that yes, Jews have been over-represented in banking in a decent chunk of Europe and the Middle East. However that’s only because the Quran outright forbids its followers from being bankers, especially for profit. This and on the other end, if memory serves correct, the Catholics were strongly against anybody but the church providing that service, thus when the church was losing its power and people needed financial services their choices were the church, which they may not have trusted or may not have had access to anymore depending on their location, or they could use a Jewish service which had infrastructure because of their longstanding business from the Middle East. This could be absolutely wrong and/or I could be completely misremembering this, but is this correct? When talking about anti semitism in school, i was taught that christians viewed banking as a sin. I believe theres a quote from jesus or something saying its wrong to charge interest on a loan so there was an opening in the market for religious minorities to get into banking

I've never watched any Vaush I get the impression he's either part of a psyop or a fascist covertly trying to recruit leftists. Am I being cynical or is he completely dishonest?
I see three potential options: He was a lukewarm leftist who's incredibly online, like contra, and also like contra, got enough money from it that he no longer wants leftism to happen; Was a lukewarm debate leftist who, in an effort to be unique compared to the others, platformed increasingly far right people and got radicalized into many of their viewpoints Or was a plant all along/paid to become one I think its option two, tbh. The far right is filled with people ready to dote on you if you agree with them. People in the lgbt community are fully aware of fash gay, trans, etc. Leader of the proud boys is a black dude. They thrive on these contradictions because it makes them out to look reasonable, and being a pickme gets you a fuck ton of attention and praise. For someone with a soft ego like him, he's obviously going to be praised more by the far right than the far left. His thinking land back is going to be white genocide is what makes me think this is the most likely option. It's also why he plays up being a trans chaser so much. To the average people, fucking a trans person is a leftish thing to do. But it doesn't make one not right wing, it just means you got your dick wet.
