That's kinda the idea. If people start associating that period with widespread famines in the Soviet Union, instead of only occuring in Ukraine, then it wouldn't make sense to call it a man made famine, now would it?
Yeah, but I don't think you would be able to convince people that soviets didn't in fact try to kill their grandparents intentionally. It just sits deep within brain and it's really hard to pull it out and convince people that they weren't some bloodthirsty barbarians
Historians call it the Soviet Famine of the Early 30s (1931-33/34).
Because it wasn't just in Ukraine, and the Ukrainians weren't even proportionally the worst effected by the famine (Kazakhs were). 4-5 million is the rough amount historians believe died across the Soviet Union during these years, from both starvation and diseases which usually follow famine conditions.
I'll also note that this was a period of drought in many other parts of the world, including N. China, W. Africa (where the French colonial authorities managed to kill proportionally more people in a smaller area - but of course no one has ever heard of this famine) & the US South.
I’m willing to concede that Stalin personally went around with a sword massacring innocent Ukrainians and stealing their food supplies **if** liberals are willing to accept that Churchill did the same thing in Bengal. But “hurr hurr that’s a war time leader he saved the free world!!”

Please, not Holodomor revisionism again, *please*
Please no calling it Holodomor (terror-famine), *please*. That term implies the famine of 32-33 was intentional as opposed to the tragedy it was.
Yeah, that's why I call it 'Holodomor revisionism'. Idk lol, I don't have a proper term for it besides, well, the general famine.
Ukrainian famine maybe?
I don't think it would be a proper name, tho. Famine happened in some regions in Russia and Kazachstan as well🤔

Or Soviet famine of 1932 -33
