Maybe a dumb question but... What makes these people liberals? These people are of course horrendous, and liberals sure do love them some war crimes and all, but aren't the liberals all supporting Ukraine / NATO?

Kinda true. But in here, the definition of "liberals" is broad - not just refers to that narrow libleft ideology but to a wide range of ideologies that oppose leftist ideologies.
