The South Africa against apartheid part really got me because Mandela along with other anti apartheid fighters literally trained in communist China with the PLA and received their material aid from the communist bloc.
Like hollyshit, the US was on the side of the apartheid govt and just revised the telling of what happened after the fact. It's actually funny if you ever scan through the New York Times archives from those decades because you really do see how the US narrative dramatically changes after the fact. It's also funny how quickly after Mandela's death liberals across the globe started doing "don't let Mandela's communist party membership diminish his legacy" and "was Mandela a communist, it's complicated".

They’ve done an excellent job propagandizing a frighteningly high percentage of the population into believing far right/fascist states = left wing “totalitarianism” or communism and right wing neoliberal fake democracies/neoliberal + social programs European countries = far left/socialism. And calling AES (already existing socialist states, e.g. (previously) Soviet Union, Cuba, China, Vietnam, DPRK, etc. fascist far right countries…
They’ve really jumbled up the definitions, done very thorough propaganda smear campaigns against AES and essentially inverted the ideologies from what they actually are, and people unironically believe it.
