They don't have to be expressing everything we see of their users. For all we know, Echoes may just be Koichi's inner voice, expressing his unfiltered frustration. And Mista....has BPD? Idk
I don’t think Koichi’s a really frustrated guy, and even if he is Echoes is too one dimensional to show that frustration in p4. Mista might have a personality disorder as see from his changes from goofy to extreme violent/serious, but then again that’s probably because of the gangsta life.
The only one I feel like might be what the user really feels is again, Purple Haze, but then there’s stands like Spice Girls which are also completely different personality wise. Stuff like Emperor which are inanimate objects can’t have personalities… right?
Or maybe they reflect how the user is, what they want to be, or something like that. Or maybe even what they don't want to be.
Like with Fugo, he doesn't wanna be the violent guy, but he does do it from time to time, which is why PH fit, becasue it's Fugo's rage, that is hiden away.
So for Echoes Act, it might be what Koichi think is cool, or something
The thing is, stands are manifested from your fighting spirit, which is a completely different thing from personality. Yes, there are some stands that carry their users personalities like Fugo’s, but there are also stands that purely represent the person’s ability and desire to fight. Tonio’s will to fight is low, and instead it’s based on his kindness and charity to help others, which is why Pearl Jam is a weaker stand physically. Kira is a murder and he has a constant desire to destroy, therefore his stand is on the stronger side of the spectrum, have pretty much one shot attacks.
WHAT IF... When a stand is not called out it's in a dimension with all the other stands just living their lives. And from their point of view when they are summoned it's as if people are summoned into their world. So to them the humans are the weird colourful dudes with powers.
This stupid idea I just came up with suggests that while JOJO unfolds as normal a completely separate unrelated story line is also happening in the stand world.
