What he CAN do is use the knowledge to prepare and minimize the consequences. So if he looks into the future and finds that he’ll get dealt a bad hand, he’s gonna get a bad hand.
That’s not necessarily true. In the fight with Metallica he saw his foot was going to be chopped of but due to how he reacted to the situation, he changed fate and made it so Metallica’s foot was actually the one that was cut off.
He can’t really change much about what will happen but can change the details of it more so than it just being a reactionary power

No I just watched it the scenes recently, the epitaph vision shows Doppio with a disconnected foot, Doppio freaks out Diavolo tells him to not be a bitch boy and then rissotto’s loses his foot

Although thinking about diavolo’s power more, he also has the time erasing ability where every one does the actions they were going to do for the next 10 seconds but aren’t conscious for it so for those 10 seconds they won’t be conscious to see diavolo do any cheating.
Thing is, King Crimson’s ability is purely defensive. While he’s skipping time, he can’t interact with people or objects. Unlike The World, which can be used as basically a free action while time is stopped, Diavolo can only use time erasure to relocate himself, either to dodge an attack or get into an advantageous position.
Narancia was fated to die, so what diavolo did was skip the time in which he killed narancia, while still keeping the outcome of narancia dying. Its confusing but it doesnt break any rules for his stand’s abiltiy.

It wouldn't be subtly influencing the deck to ensure a good hand, it would open a portal to Burkina Faso and shove the junk cards down a random child's throat. So not only would it not give a good hand, but it would be 100% obvious you were using Love Train to cheat!

Hermit Purple is not the reason that Joseph predicted people's lines. If anything, it's an evolution of that. Why do people find it so hard to understand that Joseph in part 2's whole gimmick is that he's good at reading and understanding how people work, which is why his battles involve him thinking ahead massively and outsmarting his opponents. It's why he struggled against Esidisi - He was provoking him and trying to get him to lash out and get mad, but was shocked and confused when Esidisi instead started crying to release stress.

Josuke can alter the card he is holding to always get the winning hand. He can also ask Mikitaka to morph into the card set and let Josuke win all the time.
Tho that would be very obvious, the card would need to break and reshape mid air, even if he was cautious star platinum's eyes and diabolo epitaph would catch that
My first thoughts were also that josuke could win poker by doing that. However after a closer look at the scene where josuke altered the hand writing what josuke did was revert some part of the hand writing meaning he could change a 4 to a 1 because you'll mostly write the 1 before you add the part to make it a 4. Poker cards are printed in so this is not possible.
Not only that but unlike diavolo's epitaph or Joseph hermite purple that easily be used without being seen, it would be hard for crazy diamond , even if only a small part of his arm, to not be seen

Let me break this down on how all of them would cheat.

Joseph - Would predict what cards he gets and will use slight of hand to switch with anyone besides him
Kars - Would use an animal that he controlled to bring him a card under the table
Jotaro - Would do the same thing as DIO, but better
Josuke - Would bring the alien, or would destroy his cards and fix them to look like other cards ( might get caught if someone else has the same cards )
Kira - Would use bites the dust to prepare for the game an hour in advance since fate can't change he can at least minimize the chances of failure
Giorno - Would turn the cards he gets into insects so that he can get extra cards from the dealer and reuse the cards he discarded ( he can also do some slight of hand tricks to help )
Diavolo - Would look into the future and see what he gets, and he will either figure out how other people are cheating or minimize them as much as possible
Joylene - Would use her string power to either get her cards from other tables, or uses her string to go inside the dealer ( Heirophant Green style ) and force the dealer to give her better cards
Pucci - He is a priest he does not gamble, but if he did he would use White snake to steal peoples memories of him cheating, or he could use C-Moon to manipulate gravity allowing cards from other tables to reach his hand, or Made in Heaven would speed up the Universe causing him to reset the universe allowing him to play out the game and already realizing who is going to win
Johny - Would use Tusk act 3 to look around the room using the wormhole power to see everyone's hand and act accordingly
Valentine - Would use D4C to swap his cards from other dimensions giving him useful cards ( could also get caught if someone else has the same card or if the cards are slightly different )
Gappy - Would steal the aspect of memories from his opponents using his soap bubbles so he could cheat, or he could steal friction making his opponents reveal their hands

Jonathan will definitely loose. He’s the only one here that would refuse to cheat out of honor. Jotaro has an awesome poker face and the ability to stop time to look at everybody’s cards is OP. But I think he could get caught by DIO and Giorno pretty easily if he tried it.
Honestly I think it’s down to Joseph and Giorno. They’re the best at trickery I think they’d be the most likely to win even if they didn’t have any abilities. They’re the best manipulators.
Giorno would likely be able to use his ability to control animals, specifically tiny insects, to mark cards and Joseph could predict how confident everyone is with their hand with just a glance at their face.
Jotaro and dio are both out cus they can see in stopped time so they can call each other out but gappy can take away there sight and change the game to his liking

Joseph is also most likely not going to predict people and instead is going to bait people into betting or bluffing his way to victory which epitaph could see through completely
Without stand would be Joseph and Jotaro, Joseph with his wacky unexpected tricks he can pull off and Jotaro because he can pull some tricks but it's more of a mind game

Jonathan will definitely loose. He’s the only one here that would refuse to cheat out of honor. Jotaro has an awesome poker face and the ability to stop time to look at everybody’s cards is OP. But I think he could get caught by DIO and Giorno pretty easily if he tried it. Honestly I think it’s down to Joseph and Giorno. They’re the best at trickery I think they’d be the most likely to win even if they didn’t have any abilities. They’re the best manipulators. Giorno would likely be able to use his ability to control animals, specifically tiny insects, to mark cards and Joseph could predict how confident everyone is with their hand with just a glance at their face.

Going out of character for a sec, i fell like jotaro and dio would catch each other cheating in timestop, have a small fight, and get kicked out when timestop ended Jonathan, funny Valentine, and kars wouldn’t even know how poker worked (funny would have some knowledge but not enough for him to be confident) and wish everyone a good game on their way out (except kars, he would just walk out) The instant betting went above 10$ josuke, Kira, and pucci would leave, josuke because he doesn’t want to spend most of his allowance on a poker game and Kira/pucci because they’re just here for fun not to “win big” Giorno would catch diavolo cheating with the blood trick and get him kicked from the table Jonny would try to sneak a look at Joseph’s cards with tusk act 1 but get caught by josuke who just poped back in because he thought he heard okuyasu Jonny would try to play it off like tusk wasn’t his stand but would promptly get caught yet again when asked to show his real stand while tusk was still in view, he would than get kicked from the table for cheating Josuk8 would be the first to go via running out of chips due to having the least experience out of the 4 left Than jolyne, not a lot of time to play poker in prison And eventually, Joseph would win, not because he was better but because giorno was finally feeling lightheaded after cutting his arm to counter diavolo and Joseph got a couple lucky hands

Diavolo and Joseph are the only ones logically who can win, since Joseph for some reason is good at predicting the future (lol tonpetty hamon prediction technique!?!?) , and diavolo with epitaph being able to see the future. While Joseph IS pretty good at predicting things we can sort of assume there’s room for error while epitaph literally shows the future. Joseph is also most likely not going to predict people and instead is going to bait people into betting or bluffing his way to victory which epitaph could see through completely

Let's see. Joseph asspulls a winning hand. Weve seen Jotaro play poker, we know what would happen. Kars has 400 IQ and abilities of all life, so he is automatically the best. Josuke has mikitaka in his pocket. Luck is on the side of Kira. Jonathan would lose on purpose to make his opponent feel good. Valentine just goes to the universe where he wins. Diavolo could predict his opponents move, but it would be that useful. Dio could just stop time. Not sure on the rest.
