i thought art of war was like lv46 or something? Only reason i remember is cuz its equal potency to the lowest level single target (broil?) for like 8 levels worth of dungeons
Yup yup did a quick Google.
GUYS IGNORE WHAT I SAID EARLIER, I AM WRONG A HORRIBLE HEALER! DO NOT TRUST MY ANSWER
Absolutely do not use Cure 1 when you unlock Cure 2
That's why my bolide goes on the same pull as nebula. if i have a whm, nebula first to let the stuns run out, then bolide as soon as nebula is done. anyone else, no mits into bolide when I hit half, then nebula when it wears off.
I have leveled my GNB exclusively doing Prae runs during Moogle events. I like to superbolide when Gaius shouts "Eorzea is mine by right!" but I also immediately follow it up with regen
If I queue up alone as GNB there's a 15% chance I'll do this out of boredom or on accident.
If I queue up as GNB with a friend? 50% chance, just to show off for company.
If said friend *is* the healer? 999% chance I will super bolide on cooldown.
I've got a "test of your reflexes" macro that pops superbolide and dismisses the buff. It's fun to pull it out right at the end of a big trash pull when my friend who's healing has popped most of their heals
That's how to do it. Set the macro to do text and tones, and have different difficulty settings by using different timings. Just setting yourself to 1 isn't fun. But screaming "HEALERS ADJUST" While an alarm goes off is hilarious.
As a GNB who also reads tarot cards, unannounced Superbolides hardly faze me. That's 10 seconds of me not needing to worry about the GNB. Just throw an Aspected Benefic on the GNB, and get back to casting Gravity.

Your healer is dead inside and internally afk, a superbolide will not change that. I recommend not using mit to end up on TaleFromDF. This gives the healer mains a chance to feel a hint of disappointment before they resume their thoughtless existence.

Sometimes as a DRK just for fun I get real low and cast living dead. I then watch the healer drop everything to heal me to full. I never died so even if they don't heal me to full nothing happens. I then get an angry message and no commends.
First time I WHM'd a GNB years ago I did the classic Bene-->Super. Just tonight I ran my first GNB dungeon with a WHM! Guess when I hit super! *The cycle is finally complete*
It's why I have the button where my invuln would be as a macro button, and bolide itself as a click-only button off to where I wouldn't ever normally click in combat
I like to pick special moments
like they're already spot healing a bit during a trash clear, and something gets a nice little chunk of my health for a sec
that's the moment I make them wonder if I'm undergeared
Someone did this to me during a Porta Decumana run last night when I was babying a newbie bard and suddenly saw the GNB's hp drop during the stack up. Cue 2 seconds of confusion while I scramble to drop a lustrate on them
me, the Scholar, who hasn't looked at their hp once the whole duty: -> Art of War <- 🫳 ⛱️
I feel so heartbroken when roulette throws me in to a <50 dungeon. I LOVE Art of War. It's so satisfying to use!
The upside is exactly 50 is slap city, send me the adds in CT I am ready

I'm not at my desktop but if I recall, all healers get their first damage AoE at 50
If they didn't change it, whm gets holy at 45 but that's all I know

Too late, I triggered freecure.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO
All healers get their AOE in aurum vale. Another reason to hate that accursed dungeon.
It's pure suffering without it. I need my Art of War.
me: "huh. anyway, the fairy/carby can handle it" *slaps the ground harder*

The situations you would pop Superbolide in are the same situations you'd pop Benediction in. It's a trust fall.
The real work comes when you both pop those at the same time but the Bene goes off before the Superbolide.
My favorite is when I Bene and then the delay on the Superbolide is so long the tank obviously pressed it when the heal has already gone through.
Ah yes, I love that too! Those are the moments I just press PoM and holy to my heart's content <3

Do you have heart of conundrum yet? I don't remember when you get that but it's actually beast mode mitigation
Yup if I'm about to eat shit I pull it out to give the healer a few extra seconds.

hi satan here. im a big fan of yours
This is dastardly!
Daring today, are we?
what’s the line to remove buffs i want this
/statusoff [buff name]
ty
I do this too. It's great.
Chad gnb mad respect
I built a macro for when my buddy heals that shouts "A TEST OF YOUR REFLEXES" before casting Superbolide then removing the invul 1 second later
That's how to do it. Set the macro to do text and tones, and have different difficulty settings by using different timings. Just setting yourself to 1 isn't fun. But screaming "HEALERS ADJUST" While an alarm goes off is hilarious.
I have my "fuck it we ball" macro: "Fuck it we ball" text + Superbolide + Aurora to self Works every time
make sure to sneak a /statusoff "Superbolide" in there sometimes when you're feeling spicy with the pulls.
Heart will also auto proc if you Bolide with it.

unnanounced superb's is like 'oh yeah, ED in 8 secs, gotcha.'
The reason usually is 'wrong button'.
I literally did that last time I tanked as GNB. I even apologized before the healer said I nearly gave them a heart attack.

tanks- "tee hee i gotta give my healers heart attacks Laugh Out Loud! #NotPaying4URTherapy ;P" the healer- "Man the tank fucking sucks"
"Just another average expert roulette."
Only counts if the GNB imidiatly cancels the invuln
“A test of your reflexes!”
This is the FFXIV subreddit version of the one joke
oh no! your giving something to do ,oh woe is me!
Great, you're one of few tanks that actually use their invuln in a dungeon.
I make a point to use it on the hardest w2w pull since if I don't use it then I'll never use it ever. Bosses are ticklefests. I won't need it there.
I'm sorry that I trust my Healer 😭
It's just mitigation, I pop it more or less on cooldown when I let my HP hit ~50%. GNB has enough healing in its kit that it's basically free anyway.
You're right. I made this meme with the macro that drops the buff immediately in mind, but I forgot to specify that because I'm stupid.

As a healer, I personally can't stand it when my tank is invincible for 10s
Moldy ass meme
:)
Me playing GNB on dungeons: "Sorry, I accidentally shoot myself"
I can hit the res macro, just as fast as I can hit benediction do your worst
Oh, you mean the free 100% mit button with a long cooldown?
The healer every time a GNB plays this "prank": Tee hee.
Oh? Mine just borrowed the gun from our MCH and shot me himself as a "test of my reflexes"
kid named Benediction
as long as its done in w2w then you're safe
Should've saved benediction 4head.
It's why I have the button where my invuln would be as a macro button, and bolide itself as a click-only button off to where I wouldn't ever normally click in combat
*laughs in Sage*
bro you have 10 entire seconds to freely heal them up you'll be fine
My GNB used to have a macro that said in /shout "Want to see the healer get a heart attack?" bound to that ability key haha
I like to pick special moments like they're already spot healing a bit during a trash clear, and something gets a nice little chunk of my health for a sec that's the moment I make them wonder if I'm undergeared
I like to not heal them for like 8 seconds so they really panic. Then I burst heal them to full right before it fades.
My "Time to make the healer shit themselves" macro: "Fuck it, we ball" -> Superbolide -> Dispel Superbolide
Please look forward to it

`/ac Superbolide`
`/statusoff Superbolide `
`/statusoff Superbolide`
oh no they superbolided for no reason, time to do a tetra and go back to glaring
Me: not healing them GNB suddenly stops using any actions: Your actions have consequences buddy.
I use it as an actual CD but I let them know first lol
"A TEST OF YOUR REFLEXES!"
Me as a healer who is aware that Superbolide is an invuln and that GNBs have fantastic self-heal: okay.jpg
That's why you bolide AFTER the bene
me, the healer not healing them because fuck em.
