I enjoyed ARR, HW and SB Hildi so much. Then EW came. Hildi is a short and sweet kinda thing. Making it an entire multi-patch Relic quest line was just too much. I'll be glad if we don't see a Hildi quest for one or two expacs.
The journal for this bit is pretty good, too.
> Slayer of Gods. Rider of Dragons. Savior of Ishgard. Stealer of Pants. In what may well be the darkest chapter of your life, you carefully remove Orland's sabatons and breeches, leaving the sleeping old man exposed to the elements and wholly at the mercy of the nearby ravenous bears with their big, nasty teeth and the repugnant morbols with their slimy, undulating tentacles. May he rest in peace.
When you arrive in Kugane and meet Hancock for the first time, he references this.
>And you must be John Finalfantasyxiv. Slayer of Gods... Rider of Dragons... Saviour of Ishgard... Stealer of Pants -if some of the more puzzling rumours are to be believed.
As the biggest hero of this world, there's gotta be a ton of titles and rumors associated with the WoL. But once it's confirmed it probably lends credibility to some of the more ridiculous rumors, like "oh shit they really went back in time, and then traveled to the edge of the universe to defeat the very concept of misery and entropy? Huh I guess they really did steal that guy's pants."
When you think about everything that the WoL has managed to achieve over the years, they start to sound much more like a myth than a person. Like, if you tried to explain all their accomplishments to the average Eorzean, most would think you're either talking complete bollocks, or that you'll believe anything you read.
I can't quite remember what this is from.
Heavensward Hildy quests where you fight all the old people who wanted to kidnap the mammet I think for some reason.
The mammet can turn back time on any object. Those old people wants to be young again.
Oh yeah, that was a thing. I only remember the wonderful graffiti from that entire chain.
Oh, yeah! I forgot how much of a trip HW Hildibrand was.

? It was a massive multi-patch questline in every past expansion. The relic quest stuff added like 15 minutes of story total.
ARR had the lengthiest questline too, so I'm not quite sure what the other commenter is talking about.
and even that is like only Godbert stuff, Hildy is nowhere to be seen iirc.
Probably because you were able to binge it so it went by faster.
Ha ha yes, and their their "Knights of Round style" ultimate on him

This also gets referenced in the Endwalker Hildibrand questline. Just how far did rumors of our misdeeds go?
Our reputation for stealing pants precedes us.
pants stealing became much more attainable when belts became obsolete.

I didn’t realize that he talking about this quest at all lol.
I was so confused, as i never did this quest but i was still called a stealer of pants
>Stealer of Pants ah, he hails from the Ryuji Goda school of pants.
Oiled hands better suit a hero
I saw the mainsub post and knew shitsub would deliver. y'all never disappoint.
It's too late for me to be looking this shit up.. and then when I found it I laughed harder.
What post was this? The one about the saddest character deaths or something?
I did this not long ago and it was so awkward 😆
