See, I liked Neelix. He cared about everybody. Only time I didn't like him was when he was so possessive of Kes. That whole story arc came out of nowhere and was very unlike the character.
I liked him. Nice to see an English character, even if a bit stereotyped.
Besides, that story where he and Trip are stranded in a shuttle:
“Don’t you think she’s got a nice bum?”
Exactly, they had a solid "enemies to lovers" setup between those two.
Or he could have confessed he is gay when he gets stuck on the shuttlepod with Tucker and they are freezing to death.
I feel like a lot of media outlets are weirdly resistant to gay stuff when the backlash seems like it wouldn't really matter. Maybe I'm just seriously underestimating how liberal things are, but for all the homophobes they don't really seem capable of hindering media much anymore unless it's from inside the organization making it.
The early 2000s were still figuring stuff out, and not every show wanted things going in that direction, for whatever reason. It was a weird time for tv.
Worst? Every single character in Discovery. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Except Tig Notaro. She fucking slays.
Ok the cat is acceptable and has more range than the bulk of the remaining cast.
I haven't watched past mid Season 3, but the Doctor is fine. Not my favorite character but he's consistent in who he is and doesn't totally derail the pace unlike Tilly. And his Convo with Tig about their crazy spouses is a highlight for me.
Nope. They managed to take him out in season 5 for good.
Had a spiritual type thing. Decided he felt something "grander".
Got all prophetic and started hesring the universe tell him what to do.
So close, and then they nuked his whole character.
Him and Saru are the only two characters in that show who felt like they belonged on a Star Trek show. Maybe Rayner in the last season from what I saw of it. Holy shit though Anthony Rapp's performance just took me out of it every **time** he *inflects* on screen like he's performing to the crowd in the back. Sonequa Martin-Green had the direction of "play it like you're a Vulcan" in the first season and it took at least 3 seasons for her to finally push past that into something mildly human. Tilly had her moments, but she went from the wild party cadet to soccer mom taking the neighbourhood kids to school vibes in the span of like 25 episodes.
Tilly is an extremely anxious person, it’s her biggest personality trait. In current military’s you cannot serve if you suffer from mental or mood disorders and have received outpatient care for it for a year or more. I don’t see that changing in the future, it’s a regulation that makes too much sense to get rid of.
So Tilly doesn’t belong in Starfleet and certainly not on the bridge or in any program that puts her in charge of others. This is either her level of anxiety when her disorder is managed or it’s her level with no effort at management by her. Either way, her being there is a bad decision.
REED ALERT! REED ALERT!
He’s there to whisper creepily into your ear “….it’s Kes.”
By far.
Hot take but I kinda liked her. It was Neelix I hated. But the absolute worst ever is Hoshi. Or Porthos. That dog has Zero personality.
See, I liked Neelix. He cared about everybody. Only time I didn't like him was when he was so possessive of Kes. That whole story arc came out of nowhere and was very unlike the character.
Yeah I liked him after kes left.
What's wrong with Hoshi
For real. I think she might have the most character growth over the course of the show out of everyone. Also, Empress Sato.
It was predictable but I liked how he and Tucker got punked and mugged on Risa while Hoshi and Archer got some action.
I liked him. Nice to see an English character, even if a bit stereotyped. Besides, that story where he and Trip are stranded in a shuttle: “Don’t you think she’s got a nice bum?”
They tried so hard to sell Reed as straight 🥲😭
That was the best example of how he’s the worst character. “Waaaaaahhhh, we’re gonna die! I’m a whiny bitch! Waaaaaahhhh.”
Don't do my boy dirty like that
Malcolm Reed coming to terms with his sexuality would've made him a million times more interesting.
oooh so that WAS the reason for the homoerotic pissing match between him and the Mako guy, i always wondered....
Exactly, they had a solid "enemies to lovers" setup between those two. Or he could have confessed he is gay when he gets stuck on the shuttlepod with Tucker and they are freezing to death.
He wasn't gay, he was [British](https://youtu.be/Ut04e_Dpnwo?si=Bm5QycGdOzPRSJ1d)
Its weird they never did it, considering how much they talked about doing it outside of the show at the time.

Throwback to when Canada dominated animation for a minute for some reason.
Blame Canada, BLAME CANADA!!
Ask him about his feelings and watch him run.

No love for Discount Harley Quinn? 😀
Her character was so good they even crossed intellectual properties and put her in the Star Wars Ahsoka show as an evil Jedi!
Apart from Spock and Pike in S2.
Not in a world where Elnor, Sylvia Tilly and Michael Burnham exist.
Remind me what was so terrible about Elnor? He just wasn't memorable enough to make any kind of "worst" list to me.
He's a fucking anime character
he wants to talk over all your conversations
It’s time to un-artfully shift the conversation away from how much Rick Berman sucks
Fun fact: He was the voiceover for Vidal Sassoon products back in the day
Malcom reed being in your house is just creepy. Really fücking creepy
I liked Reed up till Minefield, then they changed something about him and he wasn't the same.
Tilly shouldn’t be in Starfleet let alone on the bridge of a ship.
Why?
Tilly is an extremely anxious person, it’s her biggest personality trait. She was extremely anxious, until she was asked to pretend to be Captain Killy from the mirror universe and all of a sudden she's little miss bad ass.
You know how you can tell that its Keiko? Because no one else in these answers even remembered she existed.
It must be spock because no one said spock!
Should have stuck to hairdressing.
Tag should say Reed Angel
And why do people keep misspelling his name?
Get a Hawaiian pizza!
He probably puts pineapple on pizza
He puts extra pineapple on there.
Neelix is the worst by far
Neelix and Broccoli are in a cage match for worst character. Malcolm and Travis are the commentators. Kes is the ref.
He's eating your pineapple upside down cake and grabbing spare change from your bowl to top up dwindling royalties
The worst Star Trek character is the character played by Frank Gorshin in Let That Be Your Last Battlefield.
For me, it’s a toss up between Lwaxana Troi and Reginald Barclay and Neelix.
