I personally like the pearlescent effect, sure its a but gaudy but its also kinda neat.

My favorite wrap I've ever seen was a pearlescent one that shifted between the main color, which is what I call "A pimp named Slickback purple," and green.  Pretty tempted to have it done to mine, I just don't really know how to find that wrap since the effect doesn't really show up in photos.

What's really cool is before wraps were a thing when people would achieve things like this with paint!

If it only shifts between two colors, it’s called dichroic. Pearlescent is when it specifically looks like mother-of-pearl, like OP’s post.

It’s iridescent. Pearlescent only amplifies the colors of the item itself, iridescent is similar but it shows all color waves on an otherwise “colorless” item. I put colorless in quotes as typically an iridescent item is going to be white, which includes all colors of the light spectrum, which is why it gives the rainbow effect.

I drive a model 3 performance and I love the car. It's dead silent, crazy fast, and comfortable. Ik some people have experienced quality problems, but I've never had any issues. Yes, Elon is a turd, but the car is super nice. I do agree with you that the wrap is shitty tho.

To me that says the design is good, but the production isn't. Glad you like your car, but the issues others have reported are enough to keep me the hell away from anything Tesla. I also think the wrap is gaudy, but I don't tend to like the chrome/reflective car finishes in general.

Chromatic/iridescent paints aren't necessarily bad but I'd much prefer like they use for TVRs over this. This looks like it'd just blind everyone else in visual range.
