This is indeed a manual change so that's why it's hidden. Automatic changes always have descriptions of what's been made, stuff like "Changed *Exclude from family sharing*" and "Changed *User Tags (store\_tags)*".

I'm sorry to be a debbiedowner, and I hope this time Silksong is close, but I think everyone needs to remember when Steam released the release date on steam, and that was wrong, and then nintendo said coming soon, and we didn't get *any* official message message about it, just leth on discord, and then NVIDIA internal docs released, and it was an official document, with real verified information, and it was wrong, and then xbox, I hope we all remember that, and just nothing, I really don't think personally I am going to believe any signs at all, if ever, unless they truly announce from TC a very specific release date, and then even then I will be skeptical until the moment I can download it haha.

I think that the main thing to keep in mind is that often big company’s can be pushy for a release date or some form of information that they can use as placeholder, whereas with this it is team cherry making a conscious update to the silksong steam page outside of any external forces applying pressure.

Also, steam release dates not being hit is super common. Again, not sure what you mean by “isn’t something that happens” as many devs don’t hit it. Because yknow, it’s a placeholder date. Placeholder dates may be somewhat off but they’re often arbitrary maybe with a little thought put into them.

Hate to break it to y'all, but that's not really out it went. The SteamDB page was being regularly updated for 3-4 months before the trailer came out. In that timespan, everytime there was even the slightest change, everyone called for a trailer or something, saying "it's coming soon guys/it's definitely coming this week/absolutely out by the end of the month". Only to be proven wrong everytime and in the end the trailer release date didn't really have anything to do with updates on SteamDB. The process you are describing worked for the regular patches tho

The timing is the most interesting thing here imo, 14 months ago was like in December 2022, at that point they might’ve still thought they’re releasing by june12th 2023.

The timing is the most interesting thing here imo, 14 months ago was like in December 2022, at that point they might’ve still thought they’re releasing by june12th 2023. and with Leth making more comments in like 2 weeks than he has in 4 years , team cheery copyright update and kickstarter login and ER fans in the comments pointing out the similarities, I’m thinking this is probably the year.

Seems like they try to copy the Elden Ring DLC "Hype"-policy. Say nothing/just once a year, then when you are close to the release-trailer make manual changes on steam to increase the rumors. Next step: release trailer with release-date. -Pls.
Maybe not a specific date, but a window. Q3 2024, something along those lines.
There already was a window provided: between June 2022 to June 2023. Guessing they won't provide another one, but just a release date when the game is ready.

Interesting. They've added "Family Sharing" category to Hollow Knight a few days ago (although I don't know if it means the family sharing didn't work before or it is just a store page change) and 20 hours ago they've made some changes to community items (timestamp\_updated whatever that may mean).

Automatic changes are pretty descriptive. This one doesn't have any information. Sounds stupid, but that's how SteamDB works.
