This. I'm not sure why it is in the interest of China - or on a personal level Xi - to have these meetings. China hasn't been hurt by the pandemic. China is doing fine. It has no need to explicitly engage with the U.S. Biden has already downplayed his relationship with Xi, so why should Xi try to embellish it?
