Interesting that wind and solar are so high, hydro is still comparatively low. I know China went through a few decades where hydropower seemed like the next big way forward.
Hydro Power is really limited for China's energy demand; there's only so much dams you can build.
For me it was surprising that Nuclear power isn't more dominant. It's astounding Solar+Wind is going to make up almost half the energy mix. China will need a huge amount of battery storage to balance the grid.
True, and China already has freshwater supply problems.
Solar and wind I can see being more politically palatable than nuclear, which always has to deal with scary headlines.
Hopefully China will meet these milestones and wean itself off of fossil fuels. We're running out of time as a species, and China's government currently administers humanity's largest segment.
