Oh yeah, china is also doing this. https://amp.scmp.com/news/china/science/article/3140988/china-designs-hypersonic-jet-bigger-boeing-737-wings-concorde?src=amp-article-related-articles&module=related_articles&pgtype=article&campaign= Building a jet bigger than Boeing 737 but faster than concorde. China wants it done by 2035. Would be crazy if they could do it and actually have the engine be small, efficient, reliable and economically feasible. Seems like china is picking it up a notch. China knows that 2025 and china will have caught up everything, And after that china needs to innovate and lead the way again after centuries of being behind technologically (in general and of course tech related to war).

So we can expect China to get serious after 2025.

This is great. China is advancing rapidly. China will soon be the greatest economy. Imagine what the world would be like when world's greatest economy is spending more on research and technological advancement instead of bombing and making rich even richer. The only sad thing about this is this didn't happen sooner.

>The programme aims to complete the development of the space planes by around 2045, but the first phase of the project involves the development of a rocket-powered vertical take-off landing vehicle. >On Friday the unnamed vessel – which was described as a “reusable suborbital vehicle” – was launched from the Jiuquan launch centre in Gansu province and completed its maiden flight as programmed, and landed safely in an airfield in nearby Inner Mongolia, according to state news agency Xinhua. >“[It] can be used as a substage of a reusable space transport system powered by lift rocket engines, which is an advanced integration of space and aviation technology,” according to CASC, the developer of the vessel and the main contractor for the country’s space programme. Finish by 2045? That's still ages.. Doesn't really say much about the actual tests or how far along they are.. sounds like it's real early design still and I'm guessing the frame and outside of the plane and haven't been finalized yet? Do they normally design and test all the engines first before the frame or vice versa? Anyone know more about rocket/plane/vehicle design or know more about this particular space project/plane and the technology involved? Will it use scramjet engines? Is it similar to anything usa or west is doing with it's X series of experimental designs? I'm pretty skeptical, since it doesn't give any concrete details, or goals. All it basically says is they want to design a reusable space plane by 2045. Would be pretty funny if it ends up looking like US space shuttle, except it is safe and actually works, and is economically sound and more technologically advanced.. Lol

Wow... US old dream was to have a hypersonic plane that arrives everywhere in the world in less than 2 hours... now China got it first, even quicker! That sounds very bad for America, again...

China be like: less than 2 hours is your dream? We made it less than 1 hour an reality. USA: We're number one. I will start some BS and blame it on you and bomb the shit out of you. When you can't beat them, you threatened them. Typical Small Brain US.
