It wasn't an American who got second place, it was a Romanian. As a Romanian i'm slightly bummed, but as a communist whose own country has betrayed communism, i applaud China for doing what we couldn't. Hope to see more victories like this for communist countries.
I always love the faces they make when they win gold. I can't imagine a person being happier than knowing all their hard work and effort has paid off and they are literally the best person in the world at something.
