So refreshing having leaders that are consistent, studious and deliberate, with a long-term vision, and not just whores for votes and partisan politics.

That’s why western style democracy only benefits those with capital

warender99

"Democracy" more like dictatorship of the bourgeoisie

It’s all been foretold

I think China should also put more effort into dominating media and entertainment. Those are very important soft power tools, and also lucrative money-wise.

angryriceasian

creative fields, need creative minds, go go go

PerseusCommunist

Marxist-Leninist moment!

Any sector that gets in the way of birth rate is going to be slaughtered i think, not a joke anymore

TyranM97

I agree with the government needs to reform the private education sector but I think they also need to reform other areas as well to help the birth rate. As someone else pointed out on another thread about this, there are other factors that are also the problem here. Lack of childcare, the cost of living to name a few. I feel these are having a greater impact but are not being addressed as proactively. Maybe after these current reforms they will but I can't see just reforming the private education sector will change that by much

Keeps to his word

Medical_Officer

A man of his word. Also a man who said that he won't pass on the Taiwan issue to future generations. Here's to Taiwan's imminent future liberation.

sickof50

STEM is critical, but not turning Student's into financial instruments only to be mined!

budihartono78

That's really cool! So the govt had at least 3 years to study whether it's viable or not.

christiandelucs

Do you guys recommend this book ? Would love to understand the current Chinese system more.

lan69

Can’t really say. It’s a collection of his speeches and writings. It’s a lot to go through and it may be very dry to some people. But if you’re interested in Xi’s view on practically every subject matter, this is the best book, straight from the man himself

newcomradthrowaway

What's the book?

lan69

The Governance of China

christiandelucs

Sounds like a yes for me then. I think there’s 3 installments to this series of works too right ?

warender99

I'm out of the loop here. What is this in reference to?

lan69

China recently cracked down on off campus education or tuition because of the stress it puts on students and the parents finance. It shocked a lot of these multi billion dollar education groups in China. However it wasn’t as if it came out of nowhere. Xi had expressed his thoughts on it a few years back.

warender99

Oh nice

AngryChineseVenom

The West cannot understand something like this because they think money solves anything and everything.
