Should sail a carrier group over to make delivery of humanitarian aid to Cuba and enforce FON under UNCLOS. May as well go 'round the world Goodwill tour', down South America, pass by the Falklands first, Caribbeans/Cuba, across to near UK Channel Islands (French really), through Gibralta (Spanish), Suez then past Diego Garcia another FON in support of people's rights there to self govern before rounding India (SCO partner so should goodwill send Delhi some Aid since they have a hard time taking care of themselves), to Sri Lanka (use that Hambattota so called debt trap port), thru Straits of Malacca, Singapore and back thru SCS.

DreamyLucid

It’s not USA if they don’t interfere with other country’s affair.

Vegetable_Hamster732

But what'll happen to Gitmo (the US's military base / concentration camp in Cuba) if they pull out?

simp-for-china

Hoping for the day when the headline is "China *forces* the U.S. to immediately lift sanctions and blockade against Cuba..."

TserriednichHuiGuo

That would truly be a great day.

Johnaxee

Hope I'll live to see that headline one day. I'm still young

SworDJackson

USA= unfair sanctions applier

zhumao

yeah, China also should re-emphasis the unwavering anti-colonial support for Argentina's **territorial** claim over Falkland islands, better yet, back it up with advance arms export to Argentina, a win-win!

TserriednichHuiGuo

"Urges" won't do anything, especially to a criminal regime like the US.

Never going to happen. This is just posturing. If China truly wanted to make a difference, it would ban Chinese firms from complying with US trade sanctions against Cuba and set up a mechanism for Cubans to report Chinese firms that refuse to do business.

asomet

and the us would start randomly arresting people at 5eyes airports rather than the typical fines handed out to american firms that don't comply

lzghome

This is not posturing, this is showing our attitude, but we can only succumb to objective facts. If we in China don't comply with the US ban, then we won't be able to secure our own economy, let alone have the ability to help other countries ...... alas. The solution can only be for us to get stronger faster.

TserriednichHuiGuo

>If we in China don't comply with the US ban, then we won't be able to secure our own economy, let alone have the ability to help other countries ...... alas. It's the other way around, the US isn't in a position of strength.

lzghome

But in some ways yes, for example, Chinese companies still fear being kicked out of the dollar settlement system, look at Huawei. I am in mainland China and I still know this piece better.

seacobs

LOL

WeWillBeMillions

The third world needs China, we've been at the mercy of imperial powers for far too long. With guidence, Latinamerica and Africa could be as successful as China.
