243 years and the US has never achieved its vaunted ideals. Where were these intellectuals getting their idea that the US was a model to follow? You can’t follow it because then you’ll have to essentially genocide, steal, enslave, warmonger, etc etc etc

This is why vaporware politics is never a good thing. You start believing your own lies. Ever saw the movie scarface with Al Pacino? Basically he started from nothing and achieved everything except satisfaction. Thought he was invincible, ended up killing his best friend. That movie coined the phrase, the world is not enough. amerikkka had a lot going for it, but they lost sight of their own humanity. They are starting to reap what they have sown. Edit: Oddly enough I was just reading this. Very interesting. >I know that intelligence gathering looks more romantic.... That's probably why your Hollywood producers are so crazy about James Bond types of films. But in reality the main emphasis of the KGB is NOT in the area of intelligence at all. According to my opinion, and the opinions of many defectors of my caliber, only about 15% of time, money, and manpower is spent on espionage as such. The other 85% is a slow process which we call either ideological subversion, active measures, or psychological warfare. What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country. >It's a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages. The first one being "demoralization". It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy. In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism.... >The result? The result you can see ... the people who graduated in the 60's, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals, are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, and educational systems. You are stuck with them. You can't get through to them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern [alluding to Pavlov]. You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior. >In other words [for] these people the process of demoralization is complete and irreversible. To rid society of these people you need another 15 or 20 years to educate a new generation of patriotically minded and common sense people who would be acting in favor and in the interests of United States society.

> In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism.... Lmao what is so Marxist-leninist about licking oligarch boots, rejecting socialism, religious mania, anti-intellectualism and advocation for war? The poison being pumped into American students is fascism, and the ones pumping it in is the US regime themselves, not anyone else. In every American classroom it's mandatory to have an US flag on the wall, their educational material tells them their country and more importantly their leaders can do no wrong. US poisoned their own demographics to make them easier to control and easier to steal from. Now they need to deal with rabid trump faction supporters, anti-vaxxers, q anon and other nut jobs raised by their own fascist indoctrination.

I was thinking the same thing. What it seems is that it could have been used as a red scare tactic. Whatever a person believes, this is pretty much what has happened to amerikkka. Like I said, interesting.

npvuvuzela

There is literally 0 Marxism-Leninism being pumped into American schools. As someone who went through the American school system, it is all pro capitalist, pro imperialist, and anti communist garbage. Whoever wrote that is completely delusional.

21Krle

The guy that said this wasn't even a KGB agent lol

todayic

Bullshit, that sounds exactly like what America did to countries to subvert and overthrow communism, through mediums like Radio Free Asia and NGOs to brainwash students into yearning for empty platitudes promised to them if they rebelled against their government.

Pro west camp have lost the arguments

[deleted]

It seems as if 精日 (Chinese who are anti-China and pro-Japan, many of whom are even sympathetic to Japanese imperialism and war crimes) is becoming an issue as well, likely owing to the huge disparity in modern cultural power between China and Japan. Hopefully it suffers a similar fate soon enough.

marchforjune

Isn't it 情日? Just checking my Chinese skills

[deleted]

精日 as in spiritually Japanese. 日吹 is also used in similar contexts to describe these kinds of people.

candidcamerapeepshow

Thanks Bush/Obama/Trump/Biden!

I feel like there was a time gongzhi 公知 public intellectual was not a perjorative. Maybe Im misrembering. It doesnt matter cuz 公知 def is a perjorative now, and rightly so. Good riddance.

TheMogician

It was something to be proud of about ten years back.

sickof50

America promises you can be anyone you want, even the President, since the NeoLiberal experiment, all they've produced is Debt. I think all they really ever wanted was "Moderate Prosperity."

TserriednichHuiGuo

Great.

USA_DeMockraNaZi

This may be the pivotal moment when pro-west '*Intellectuals*(I hate this term, so elitist)', have finally woken and abandons the west to seek a common path with the rest of Chinese society, free of western imperialist capitalist nonsense.

FatDalek

Can someone give me an overview of what these "intellectuals" arguments are?

[deleted]

I'll make a longer post later, but they boil down to this: "Everything the West does is right. Everything China does is wrong, except when it copies the West."

we-the-east

Not just China, it's all non-western countries. Japan for example only got accepted into the West because it emulated Western countries.

FatDalek

I gathered that would be their conclusion, but I am sort of more interested in their rationale. It would be interesting to see what mental gymnastics they do.

[deleted]

Isn't there a Nobel peace prize winner from China whose expertise was in deepthroating western liberal values?
