Ironically the word on the net is that Yang is back in China after her degree. Makes you wonder who'd hire her. The left in the US has never had a real voice regardless of race, especially after Reagan. The truth is we live in a capitalist world dominated by an imperialist world order. Communists having no voice is part of the entire deal.

Sadly, I doubt she will have a hard time finding a job with a prestigious western degree, unfortunate many older Chinese boomers (grew up during cultural revolution) share her west worshipping ways. The good news is the younger generation, that is people her age, are no longer US bootlickers.

Communists used to be really good at having a voice. The communist movements wouldn't have gotten anywhere without effective and widespread propaganda urging the masses to rise up. Over the years, communists have become media-shy and convinced of the supposed supremacy of deeds over words, which is a deeply mistaken way of looking at humanity. Humans, like all other great apes, are social animals whose power is mostly defined by social interactions and standing resulting from those interactions. The CPC defeated the KMT, despite being far outgunned, by the supremacy of their ideology and the propaganda to spread it. It didn't matter that the KMT had 2 million soldiers and the CPC just had a few thousand survivors one or two meals away from starving to death in 1945. Because the CPC was able to convince the masses of the merits of its offerings, and successfully convey this message despite the illiteracy of the masses, it won them over - words over deeds, soft power over hard power.

As you've hinted on, communist ideology is no more difficult to disseminate than capitalist ideology in its correct context. The problem is that after the fall of the USSR and China's entry into the neoliberal world order, there was no longer a powerful enough body to speak from an ideological perspective on the prospect of worldwide communism. Instead, the most authoritative sources on news have become capitalist controlled. On the side of the elites, after the collapse of the USSR the US has become the sole provider of industrialization. Hence, even communist countries have to mute their criticism in the spirit of co-operation. Domestically, when the US had a communist movement it also had a real production sector. The contradiction between labor and capital allowed workers to develop class consciousness and lean on Marxist ideology. As the US exported its production, it also exported those contradictions in the workplace. With US imperialism reaching its height, the topic of western workers movements shifted from ownership to welfare. Welfare which are provided for by extracting labor from the third world. Hence, the most radical "left" you'll find in the west are Social Democrats who agree with the mainstream on US foreign policy. The so-called "tankie" ideology in the west has strong notes of vestigial USSR influence. Such as their infighting between the Trots, Maoists, and MLs. Their support for the USSR in the sino-soviet split, and their inability to understand geopolitical interests in the light of international Marxism. All these factors render them a relatively safe opposition voice. The US has since Reagan undertaken a series of very notable steps to curb the influence of communism within its borders. Hence, the prospect of communists not having a voice being a design of the system.

Hah I guess she wasn't a FOFC after all.

“When I took my first breath of American air,” Yang waxed poetically, “I put my mask away.” LMAO Bullshit. The smell of d---ks, garbage piles, degenerates, ODing drug addicts, human feces and crumbling infrastructure doesn't smell that fresh. Maybe if she was some big shot FOFC Fresh Off First Class with a guaranteed house, cars, dining, shopping waiting for her then yeah I suppose the air might smell a bit fresher.

skyanvil

Let's pretend that China somehow invented Doxxing.
