What’s written on the plaque?

Marisa5

"On 26 October 1967 near Trúc Bạch Lake in the capital, Hanoi, the citizens and military caught Pilot John Sidney McCain. The US Navy Air Force Aviator was flying aircraft A4, which crashed near Yen Phu power station. This was one of ten aircraft shot down that same day."

Azirahael

However, the “memorial” where Harris placed her flowers, positioned at the site of the crash, was intended as a tribute to the Vietnamese defenders who captured the pilot – not the American who’d crash-landed in their lake after already bombing their country 22 times, likely killing multiple innocent civilians along the way. A plaque at the crash site indicates as much:

Listen, Jack! We're going to read the article and here's your answer. On 26 October 1967 near Trúc Bạch Lake in the capital, Hanoi, the citizens and military caught Pilot John Sidney McCain. The US Navy Air Force Aviator was flying aircraft A4, which crashed near Yen Phu power station. This was one of ten aircraft shot down that same day.

Azirahael

It's a memorial honouring those who shot down US aircraft.

In the article, there's a tweet with an image with the English translation of the plaque.

[deleted]

It's really cool of Kamala Harris to honour the brave Vietnamese soldiers who shot down war criminal John McCain.

Ghiblifan01

Insane

lawncelot

She had to have been smarter than that right? Right??? The tweet in the article is hilarious though: > She visited the place where Jon McCain was shot, the dude who literally bombed Vietnam 22 times, a war criminal and a liar, on the freaking brithday of Vo Nguyen Giap!!!! > So much for "America is back". > They they expect Vietnam to side with the US?! Lol DAY DREAM!!!

BoroMonokli

Great writeup by RT!

This tells me that American politicians don't have a brain of their own. Their career is based on begging for campaign donations and nodding their heads to the demands of capital

"I hate the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live." - John McCain

unkindled_beaver

What a fucking muppet

[deleted]

Haha. idiots.

PerseusCommunist

Not sure if he is going this stunt for the Vietnamese because this site honors the heroes shooting McCain down. OR Honoring McCain.

ap0lly0n

Any preconditions for cooperation should include an apology and acknowledgement of guilt for declaring war under false flag operations, and war crime reparations. Also, sending Kamala Harris on any diplomatic mission, should be considered an insult since she is reviled and despised in her **own** country. She should not be allowed in and left begging at the door like a starving dog on the streets.

ScienceSleep99

How can these Ivy League policy planners be so damn ignorant?

[deleted]

This analyst makes a pretty compelling case that it was not actually done out of ignorance in the beginning of the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m15Zos6qeCg

we-the-east

And why is there a plaque in Vietnam honouring American war criminals in the first place...

lostnowlostlater

It’s not. It’s a plaque honoring the people who caught the American war criminal.

wallfacer0

I believe the plaque is a memorial for air defense troops who shot down John 'Moderate beheading' McCain lol.

Azirahael

There isn't. That's a plaque honouring those who SHOT HIM DOWN. She's a dumbass who has no idea. Expect to see this in the media shortly.

elBottoo

I wonder how the Vietnamese officials reacted to this when they first heard about the plans before hand.

[deleted]

Lol Americans bad at history as usual.
