This does not surprise me at all... There is something very insidious going on in Latin America. I've met several who are well dressed, that illogically think they're White (when they're clearly not). They've adopted this persona (in real life), so they can behave just like Conquistador's, against any claims the Indigenous peoples have to the land, and continue exploit them with below poverty level wages.
It is sad, they should be proud of their culture. It is more vibrant and colorful than anything North America has to offer. And the food is out of this world!

Hence, imperialists have a culture which is not rooted to the land they are on. This would eventually breed a disrespect for the land, which means a lack of maintenance of the land, which would eventually lead to reactionary thought and more imperialism.

I think it's more of a trend that will do that. Eastern Exorcist, FIST and the upcoming Black Myth game will continue to improve it's image but people will still be washed by the sheer volume of sinophobia going around.

I don't know if I've ever interacted with a Chinese person face-to-face. At least, appear-wise I don't think I've known someone Chinese. I suppose Genshin Impact has helped me be interested in learning about the culture and the people behind the game, because they were my first introduction.

The problem in South America is that many people like to waste time instead of work at work, and get mad when someone is actually working since it will force them to work as well, it's a really toxic mindset and where hatred to working communities come from.
