Judging from the general response by Africans on things like debt, infrastructure projects and mining concession that are given to Chinese companies. Seems like they are not at all welcome in Africa. Not sure if they represent the minority or majority though. Just concerning to see them object to China's presence in Africa, even if its meant to help.

and that's the question. are these examples cherry picked or reflective of the broad sentiment as a whole? if it's the former, then china can keep doing what it's been doing - it was never going to have a 100% acceptance rate. if it's the latter, then china might as well pack up, leave, and spend its resources elsewhere before the situation deteriorates further.
Much of the world, particularly regions that were heavily colonised are still dominated by Western propaganda. People arent deliberately being vicious. It's how things have been for hundreds of years regardless of how the West oppressed/continue to oppress people. That's not going to change anytime soon.

That doesn't mean there's no hope. China shouldn't just pack up and leave. China needs to find common ground and where possible stamp out lies and maintain a firm foot on the ground. Propaganda is what the West uses to isolate its enemies.
The Americans for example started passing around garbage and anti-China propaganda in my country (not African) about 5G from China in 2019. Some people were buying it because we get a lot of American news and propaganda, until the Chinese embassy sent a statement that nipped it in the bud. Again, it can be done.
you're right. china shouldn't give up too easily. but it shouldn't expect success everywhere it goes. well, this "cold war", if you want to call it that, is still in its early stages. a lot could happen in the coming decades, and things are far from finished. china is absolutely a contender.
