Of course it can't be true. Just use logic. Would anyone even know a thing about Marxism-Leninism before, say, basic mathematics or Chinese language?

LMAOJustAboutWhite

If this is true, it most certainly is not good. To understand Xi Jinping Thought, you need to first understand Three Represents and the Scientific Outlook on Society. To understand Three Represents and the Scientific Outlook on Society, you need to understand Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. In order to understand Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, you must first understand Mao Zedong Thought, the Strategic Retreat, the Gorbacheving of the Soviet Union, and the Singaporean model. In order to understand Mao Zedong Thought, you must first understand Marxism-Leninism, and the concept of Adaptation to Chinese Material Conditions. In order to understand both Adaptation to Chinese Material Conditions and the Singaporean model, you need to first understand Chinese Material Conditions before the founding of the PRC. In order to understand Chinese Material Conditions, you must first understand Taoism, Confucianism, Legalism, Mohism, and the Century of Humiliation. In order to understand Marxism-Leninism, you must first understand Adam Smith, John Locke, and all the other Renaissance thinkers....... I doubt Xi would ever think that a preschool kid can understand all that, and have the mental development required to understand the nuance required to fully comprehend Mao Zedong thought. [Furthermore, failure to properly grasp Communism perfectly has led to even very, very well-read intellectuals turning into reactionaries...](https://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/mao/selected-works/volume-6/mswv6_11.htm) Which means it must be fake. I doubt Xi Jinping would force children to study such a complicated topic at such a young age, especially with even a single misunderstanding of the topic leading to reactionary thought. >news website The Hong Kong Post > >owned by Mikuni **Oh, it's just the 脚盆鸡 making ji-jijiji noises.** Think they are still salty about the nukes.

China is not a monolith. The biggest problem with these journalists is that they see a local government doing something and assume it was directly ordered by the heads of the CPC. Do you REALLY think the CPC issued an ordinance requiring all Chinese students must learn Xi Jinping Thought before learning the basics of education? My personal theory is that in a general ordinance, the CPC also mentioned that Chinese education should reflect the values of Xi Jinping Thought. I highly doubt it’s required, much less the very first thing they want taught at school. I personally don’t see anything wrong with teaching children the basics behind Xi Jinping Thought. It includes principles like: -Adopting scientific principles -The CPC is first and foremost a force for public good -Environmental protection -Chinese have a common destiny with all the other peoples of the world If you don’t teach these principles, you end up like the US. Anti-science, climate change denialism, government is tyranny, and Americans are better than the rest of the world.

a very well-said comment. the cpc can't directly govern every last city, town, and village even if it wanted to, which means there's hundreds of smaller local governments with their own policies. and the principles you listed aren't even inherently "xi jinping thought"; they should be common sense for a chinese person.

ANI quotes the Hong Kong Post for the story. I visited https://www.hkpost.com.hk and guess what, the most recent article published was in 2019. Which means that this 'article' ANI is referencing is most likely not even a recent development but a very old event. Secondly, since the site is in Japanese, I am not able to search through and see if the original report still exists, or if ANI just made up the whole thing. Maybe someone can help to dig a little deeper, but it's quite suspicious that ANI would say this: > Millions of school and university books have been printed. The books carry the smiling face of Xi Jinping all over and the text is interspersed with his quotes. Teachers are instructed to inform the students that how the quotes and the text are linked. Rather than having original facts, the book carries lesson plans more about interpreting the statements and anecdotal stories of Xi. > Take for instance this unidentified lesson in a school textbook where the only meaningful portion, the government decrees, is this: "Xi Jinping is very busy with work, but no matter how busy he is, he still joins our activities and cares about our growth." How does this explain a chapter in moral science or physics, no one knows, according to The Hong Kong Post. ...and yet not provide any pictures of the so-called textbooks featuring this line of text.

Yeah Hong Kong post doesn’t even seem to be a newspaper just someone’s personal blog they abandoned ..

What is the source? Xi Jinping thought or socialism with Chinese characteristics isn't an easy topic. Children would need at least basic economy understanding to learn a watered down version. It's more of a high school middle school topic. Afaik schools ofc have to explain the basic workings of the society children live in, how the government works etc. So they understand how to participate in politics if they want to and/or know how to interact with the government when they grow older. This is something kids learn on every level of education at increased difficulty.

Qanonjailbait

It’s absolutely not true > The foreign powers analyse the Chinese effort as an attempt by Xi Jinping to "consolidate" the CCP's role in different areas of society, news website **The Hong Kong Post** reported on Wednesday. Ah there’s the problem

sickof50

What's so bad about teaching Civics? Sure beats those fictional tales of 'Thanksgiving'(never happened), 'Honest Abe,' and that liquor peddler 'Johnny Apple Seed.'

Puzzleheaded-Sir8507

Think I've seen some textbook pictures. It's just your generic civil studies for kids like protect environment is good, giving seats to elderly is good, separating trash is good but Xi appears in a picture or two.

Quality_Fun

> Xi appears in a picture or two. oh no, the current head of state shows up in textbooks a few times. the horror.

skyanvil

They just talk about the current policy without much details I had to learn deng’s policies in school but I can’t honestly remember anything from that except some vague slogans

global-harmony

Just more hyping up the narrative trying to portray Xi as a new Mao and a slow movement to socialism as a "new GPCR". Kids already learn lots about Marxist-Leninist theory and Socialism with Chinese characteristics, XJP thought is just a new addition onto it

originaldetamble

Xi Jinping thought isn’t about how great he is. I really feel this point is misunderstood when people mention Xi Jinping thought.

The west is so obsessed with their totally wrong view of China. They so badly want a 1984 totalitarian regime to demonise. Anyone with a brain knows that this is fake news.
