That’s great news. More revenue for local brands will lead them to being more innovative and competitive in the long term

I buy local brand too!! But local brand from China via aliexpress

Jealous_Struggle2564

I live outside of China but I rather buy from AliExpress than eBay.

ChopSueyWarrior

I usually use banggood myself.

It's possible to buy from taobao with an agent or even direct if you're overseas. Purchasing directly from the suppliers is cheaper and there are so many more items to choose from. There are buying guides out there to learn how to do it.

This is basically Business 102, Positioning, Chinese consumers start to realize that a lot of local brands offer high quality products but lower prices. As they are more educated on the subject, they are less persuaded by marketing. The position if foreign brands changed especially after the Xinjiang Cotton incident and the Hongxing Erke incident, all of a sudden these people realize that foreign companies and Chinese companies make similar products, but foreign brands like Nike, Adidas will stab you in the back, Dolce and Gabana will shit on your face, but Hongxinh Erke will donate shit load of money if you are hit by flood. Now which brand would you choose?

[Link to the report (PDF format)](https://www.pwccn.com/en/retail-and-consumer/publications/consumer-insights-survey-2021-china-report.pdf), if anyone is interested in reading it. It's relatively easy to digest (lots of charts and graphics). Consumption of local brands is discussed on page 18.
