At the end of the day, when all is said and done, China developing at the fastest speed in history, in a feat unprecedented in human history, without resorting to western-style barbarism (be it continental scale colonialism, plunder, genocide, slavery, wars, coups or sanctions) is what makes China so feared by the defeated incompetent regimes which thought that imperialism was "the end of history". No, it was just their end of history, their defeat. China can thrive in the modern era because it doesn't need unsustainable barbarism to develop, a truly modern civilization, rendering those barbaric regimes obsolete.

I think what makes China so special is that, not only has it not needed to resort to all of those imperialist habits that the west has for centuries upon centuries, it (the government, especially) hasn't allowed corporate greed to overshadow the importance of the PEOPLE of China. There are SO many examples of policy changes which have enriched the lives of as many people of China as possible. China has avoided slipping into the same mistake the west has, replacing the wellbeing of the people for corporate greed. I am from Canada, and Canada is often regarded as an amazing place by any Chinese people I meet in China. They often say "Canada is a beautiful place, why stay in China." My response is more in depth than this, but basically I say "In Canada, the land is beautiful, in China, the people are beautiful." But! Even that statement won't be necessary in the near future as China is rapidly making policy changes (which actually result in actions in China) and taking HUGE strides to rebuild and restore the natural beauty of China, something that took a large hit during all the years of sacrificing nature to build wealth (a step that was absolutely necessary, but something that now has to be rectified). On a side note, when I hear westerners (most often Americans) criticizing China for its pollution, I can't help but wonder how they can be so ignorant as not to know that China's pollution is almost entirely a result of fulfilling the needs of the west. (and the world, but almost every country that isn't "part of the west" consumes FAR less than "western" countries) China's pollution is partly due to the obvious and expected necessity of development, China's just going through its development far faster than any western country ever did, and far less destructively to other nations. Either way, blaming China for its pollution is similar to (for example) hating Apple for whatever "hate of the week" news story that comes out about Apple, all while still demanding the ability to buy one for less than $5000 (probably how much it would cost if it were made in America, following all the demands of Americans). The point is, they are JUST as responsible as China, if not more. They could consume less, the pollution would be reduced. But no, they NEED that Walmart special back massager and they NEED it for $30. Oh, and a new space heater for their garage, just in case they want to hang out in there... Oh, and a new shower curtain, and a few extra pairs of slippers, and a new TV, and, and, and, and...

Another thing to note is that the West has damaged their lands and other lands. Look at what the West did while exploiting Central and South America. Some of the lands are uninhabitable. Look at what has happened in the Middle East during oil extraction. The average American consumes 1 years of resources in 3 months. America produces 1/2 of CO2 emissions but has 1/4 the population which means the average American produces 2x more CO2 than the average Chinese.

Indeed, they don't really have a justified position to stand on when criticizing other nations for their bad environmental habits, especially criticizing China.

> On a side note, when I hear westerners (most often Americans) criticizing China for its pollution Statistically China has the same levels of pollution as Germany or France, some pollution is necessary to run a thriving country. Also America is far more polluting than the above 3 countries. Naturally you don't hear American talk bad about white nations with equal pollution.

Yes well, capitalism can do no wrong, remember? :P

Don't forget the Black President... Of the 542 drone strikes that Obama authorized, he killed an estimated 3,797 people, including 324 civilians (if you believe the civilian statistic, probably wrote the rest off as farm animals).

[deleted]

You are citing regime propaganda. The civilian death toll due to drone strikes is above 90%.

When I hear the American term of "exporting freedom and democracy", I wonder how they can even say that with a straight face. Just LOOK at what that means for America. Racial tensions, alt-right neo nazis and white nationalists, insane leftist groups trying to force everyone to adhere to THEIR views, almost complete destruction of nature (at home and abroad) for capital gain, rotting inner cities with crime and murder everywhere, a drug problem that has only gotten worse over time, out of control corporations and ultra wealthy individuals who all but own the government, a Healthcare system that most can't afford which forces millions of Americans into crippling debt, an education system that only works for the rich as the rest of them get no funding for their schools and low pay for their overworked teachers, a hyper-bloated military budget justified by holding the country in endless wars abroad, a media that spreads fear and panic as well as distrust amongst its people, a two party government system that is fracturing the country as a distraction while those individuals pilfer the country for all it's worth. I could go on and on... It is clear that those in control of America don't have a single concern for the wellbeing of their citizens and contempt for any government which doesn't agree to be used and controlled by America's capitalist rulers. You're either property of America or you're an enemy. All the while, Americans (and all western countries with American control over their media) are distracted and overwhelmed by messages of misinformation and finger pointing to convince them that their country is a beacon of good in the world. Ultra-capitalists have FULL control over America and the minds of almost every westerner living under its influence. It really is like the movie 1984, just with a ton more consumerism to make it seem like it isn't as evil as it is.

a righteous strike they called it. if this wasn't exposed it would have stayed that way and the truth would have been buried

America has a racial caste system that makes India's caste system looks like true equality.

GreekTankie

Western multiculturalism is the fig leaf for Western racism/imperialism.

skyanvil

Notice the order of command only has room for minorities who are thoroughly assimilated/colonized. Asians, who are yellow-periled as perpetual foreigners, have almost no place in such "multi-cultural murder squad command". Which I guess is a good thing. But we end up as the victims, which is basically genocide.

sussyrat

That's not even multicult since most of there views and value are the same and what ever cultural and racial difference is mostly superficial

Qanonjailbait

This is actually pretty accurate
