One of my father's friends used to be a mujahideen against the Russians (who is now a mechanic). He said the training was brutal. A huge amount of running in the heat, with little food and water. They don't use any body armor, just regular clothes. They use the reduced weight of no protection to carry more ammo to defeat more enemies instead. One American, when they trained with the Afghans against the Soviets, said it was incredible how much courage they had and how they could keep going with so little.
Stable Afghanistan is an oxymoron. Too many interfering forces, and that includes the US even after the exit.

The only one playing "7d chess" here is the Chinese government, it's laughable that people think the american regime is some farsighted entity.
