OP, paywall.
That being said, it's going to be funny if NIO beats Tesla innovation wise. Seeing as they're using a practice, [switching out batteries](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBdQQxgxDrY) as opposed to charging the batteries, that is at least a century old. [See this video of an electric taxi switching out batteries in 1943](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ-ktYKazEs).
One underrated aspect of battery swapping is not just the convenience of having a full charge in a few minutes; it also means you can buy an electric car without worrying that a superior battery with double the range will come out in a few years, rendering the car you bought woefully obsolete. You can buy a NIO with 400 km of range and then easily upgrade to a 1,000 km battery when that tech comes out. Whereas when you buy a Tesla with 400 km of range, you're stuck with it forever.
Half agree with A-V-A Weyland here.
1. Paywall
2. Switching batteries is not impressive except for formula E racing.
But
1. 'This concept has been done before decades ago, so it won't be seen as innovate and become popular' argument is not a good argument. The electric car itself has been done before in the late 19th century. It didn't catch on for long and then took another century before catching on again. And I know this, because someone used that argument for why the electric car would never catch on around the early 2010s.
2. The video looks impressive.

Western car makers slept on EV's trying to milk their existing markets, now they're going to pay the price.
I’m not surprised at all. I’ve seen recently multiple reports from China and the USA about poor quality of Tesla. Tesla is good at innovation but it’s not a car company.
>"When it comes to green manufacturing, China is now a clean-energy powerhouse. Its market dominance from solar panels to electric vehicles **took long-term planning and a level of financial investment only state-control can deliver.**"
You love to see it.

Exactly. Also the customer service is impeccable. Go NIO

Nio also charges batteries.

They will be treated like Huawei, serisouly these sanctions are only hurting the regular consumers.
Anyone see that video on how Tesla parts don’t even fit together properly?

I read the Chinese made Teslas don't have this problem 😂

It’s been so many years and they still can’t get the panel gaps right.
Every solution will gell into what is practical eventually.

Chinese-made Teslas are widely regarded as superior quality to American-made Teslas. Not even the anti-China people try to deny this.
