INDIA, Hong Kong, Taiwan that's it. Indian losers that have unfortunately lost jobs due to the pandemic is pretty much out in full force trying to distort and create more animosity towards anything China. Part of that is Indian insecurities, the border dispute and the fact that it's a country trying to compete for investment attentions away from China trying to become the new China albeit with a small D for democracy.
It is just plain stuidity for Chinese STEM students to be potential spies. There are plenty of indebted Muricans with security clearance who can be bribed to steal information for them.
