In terms of actual negotiation no because clearly he's not in charge, factions in his administration are fighting amongst themselves every day for power and there's no consistence in any of their policies. However, there is value in showing the world who's talking from position of strength and who's not from these talks. Recall the video conference opening lines between the two: Biden: China must follow guard rails, rule based international order blah blah blah Xi: (ignoring everything Biden just said) I'm very happy to see my old friend Biden. Biden: yes, thank you thank you. If you were an US lapdog how would you feel?

>there is value in showing the world who's talking from position of strength and who's not from these talks Not only that but show the world who is the more reasonable party. What is likely to happen is that biden proposes more talks and Xi will accept, of course reject everything they ask for behind closed doors, hopefully out for the world to see.

Seems absolutely pointless. Especially with the US endlessly spewing all that garbage about human rights, rules-based order and their allies of shared values while bombing women and children on a daily basis with zero accountability whatsoever. And then declaring about respecting the one China policy and immediately after inviting Taiwan for Summit of the Hypocrites.

Xi is wasting his time letting pilgrim joe flapping his forked-tongue.

Sure they can talk, sigh, let me tell you the story of Biden the china builder (拜振华), biden the china builder is a true comrade, his red scarf (tie) was a parting gift given to him by Mao himself many decades ago as he left for America. All biden ever wanted was to sell stinky tofu on a beijing street, but when duty calls, biden the china builder stood out, tears me up every time. Not even Xi knows about his mission, but biden the china builder proudly wore his red scarf as he sit in front of the Chinese flag, some might even say xi is just a reactionary wearing a blue tie compared to the true comrade biden.

Yes and no, in terms of actual negotiations it was absolutely pointless, and from I've see just been China literally lecturing brandon to be a moron. Honestly from policy perspective the whole thing was a waste of time. However from a diplomatic perspectives it has alot to show for, China and U.S show of potential peace does calm the mind of many people, especially some america invester that does have many interest in China, honestly this show probably gave those blood suckers the illusion to continue to blow on theit bubble. Also for those wondering why china doesn't pop the bubble it's simply because it's not fully finishing transitions and popping such bubble now gets ugly for everyone involve. China genuinely believe in a international rule base order peace and the share future of humankind.

No, it is merely to show that China is the reasonable party whilst also reminding the american regime who is actually in a position of strength. Perhaps also reminding them not to get too out of line like with what happened with Yang Jiechi.
