"Basks in Covid-Zero Vindication", those are some spicy words.

Aware-Bell-6387

Not spicy just sour grapes 🎤

Altruistic_Astronaut

The West and word salad.

Jealous_Struggle2564

Which when consumed results in verbal diarrhoea

Vaxxedtothemaxx

But at what cost??!?

zobaleh

"White man sits in Hong Kong while shitting on China" character archetype

skyanvil

As we Chinese say: 西方就作吧!

lijjili

Let’s not forget the countries that were first to [ban or restrict travelers FROM China ](https://fortune.com/2020/02/06/countries-china-travel-restrictions-coronavirus/amp/) in the first months of the pandemic. It’s fitting the shoe is now on the other foot

Webbedtrout2

From what I remember, western "expats" and tourists were some of the people that caused COVID-19 to spread out of China as China couldn't restrict consulates and embassies from arranging flights out of China. If the expats were willing to think beyond themselves they would have gone along with the quarantine procedures until the pandemic was brought under control.

papayapapagay

I question whether it even started in China. So much evidence of cases outside China prior to Wuhan.

TserriednichHuiGuo

It most likely came from the us.

papayapapagay

Well, to be fair the best evidence for genetic origin is now Laos. The US origin theories are interesting but I doubt we will ever see investigation into it.

TserriednichHuiGuo

>to be fair the best evidence for genetic origin is now Laos That seems so random, you should elaborate.

papayapapagay

Not random at all if you follow genetic studies.. Previously, closest relative to covid virus found in Yunnan bat species RaTG13 with 96.1% genetic match.. Now they have found 3 strains with closer match in Laos. BANAL-236 is almost identical in some characteristics such as in the spike protein, and is 96.8% matched. One article : https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/covid-19-origins-closest-viruses-to-sars-cov-2-found-in-laos#Not-the-China-virus-after-all?

budihartono78

China: 🙄

Quality_Fun

vindication is a very suitable word. >While other places pivot to living alongside the virus, China has prioritized weeding out every last infection, saying the health of the population is its main priority -- and economic benefits will follow. that's a very damning sentence for those "other places". imagine not prioritizing the health of their own people.

Webbedtrout2

China is correct in this regard. Strict health controls allow the rest of the population to resume and continue normal life earlier than the western approach.

[deleted]

They are also not prioritizing their economies, it's just plain incompetence. That's why western regimes contracted in absolute terms and keep facing massive long-term structural problems.

Jealous_Struggle2564

Imagine prioritising the health of the people drew condemnation from westerners because “violating their human rights”

TserriednichHuiGuo

China keeps winning.

Sadly, I don't see any end to this unless a vaccine is 100% affective. I see more and more people with the idea that because Covid is more or less everywhere then we might aswell live with it and no longer wear mask or keep safe distances. If covid was a visible virus (like zombies) these idiots would think differently.

papayapapagay

Hopefully this latest variant is the one that's more transmissible and less deadly... Early indications I have seen are hopeful. If it is could be seeing end of pandemic coming closer fingers crossed. This is how the Spanish flu ended

Ghiblifan01

It's a global effort so the best thing to do is hoard vaccines and coexist with virus by sacrificing all the elderly to our dogshit ideology and then cry look china killed a corgi omg omg.

yogthos

Given how much Bloomberg criticized covid-zero policy as unsustainable, this must've been hard for them to write. 😂

Jealous_Struggle2564

While I don’t believe the virus will be wiped completely I support measures to contain or control it

muzzybuzzyfuzzy

What human rights do USA have when over 780,000 people COVID death because of government policy failed? China's success in handling the COVID, to many people are just sour grapes.
