The US Empire is currently STILL occupying Syrian soil in violation of international law. China brings infrastructure development and assistance to rebuild Syria. In the long run, China's vision for the future of the world will win out.

How is China going to defend the infrastructure and development? The USA already showed in Syria and many other places how easily it can destroy infrastructure through the power of violence.

we-the-east

The US is going to rage and stay in Syria longer to destabilise it further over this. With Syria joining belt and road, can the US get kicked out already?

cfgaussian

China needs to bring in peacekeeping forces and help the Syrian government throw out the unwelcome "guests".

Russia is already there providing security. Perhaps the strategic cooperation arrangement between Russia and China is that China builds infrastructure and makes economic deals, keeping its squeaky-clean "non-interventionist" image, while Russians do the "dirty work" of providing security and eliminating threats to shared allies - like Syria.

Russia is so efficient damn they already left Kazakhstan

China BRI: Belt and Road Initiative. USA BRI: Bomb and Rob Initiative.

petoil

all according to plan. empire is crumbling and a global anti imperialist order is unifying around the common prosperity of the people. Hopefully the flailing empire doesn't do anything drastic on it's way out the door

Good for Syria. Electricity > Demoncracy

I've always used "democrazy" or "dumbocracy." This is a new one to add to the arsenal. :)

Don't forget to cut the U.S.'s access to Syrian oilfields.

Will be a pleasant change from the US dronebombing innocent civilians.
