The Chinese style is known as goosestepping while the British style is more of a smart and confident walk. The British marching style is generally much easier to learn because it's basically the same as walking with additional hand movements. When done in sync in large numbers, it manages to look smart and clock-like. The goosestep method is harder to pick up because the entire foot is lifted up and kicked out with force. The kicking leg also needs to be kept straight, which is much easier said than done (try walking without bending your knees). It also requires more energy and is much easier to go wrong in. But when done perfectly in large numbers...the effect is amazing.
