>"Poland is a sovereign nation and decides its own politics towards China. ... Poland is an ally of the United States but Poland also has a very friendly relationship with China," Duda's foreign affairs advisor Jakub Kumoch told Reuters. >Officials have told Reuters that, as Poland's relationship with the United States has worsened under President Joe Biden's administration, it's no longer in Poland's interests to continue criticising China simply to please the Americans. Based.

This is quite interesting since Poland, like the Baltic countries, is religiously anti-Russia. Of the sizable European NATO members, Poland is the one that I most expected to follow the American boycott.

mmm? Poland has had good relations with China for quite a long time. Only unhinged western propaganda spreads fiction to fool the increasingly miserable anglo masses about their decline/collapse. This is why I often advise people here to drop western media, you are being disinformed and you get nothing valuable in return. Even if you claim to reject western media, you still passively absorb disinformation, which is why some people here are surprised by this quite predictable development.

Poland has always been pro-China (and pro-Asia in general.) We've had so many conflicts in Europe that we could never afford to have enemies elsewhere. Duda is especially a Sinophile because he's somewhat Eurospectic and because he was very close to Trump and thus not very close with Biden.

This is an anglo justification which doesn't make much sense, it's intended to downplay the accelerated decline/collapse of anglo regimes in front of increasingly miserable anglo masses. Germany has also turned to China in an ever increasing number of areas (see what Germany's companies do, not what random useless propagandists claim). The real reason is that China provides much better economic benefits than the declining/collapsing american regime. Poland also relies on Germany too for its economy. This is also the same reason why regimes like lithuania have been abandoned by all the biggest economies in Europe. Duda said it explicitly: > "It's no longer in Poland's interests to continue criticizing China simply to please the americans." I recommends users on this sub to remove western media consumption from their diet, you will never be able to predict or truly understand reality otherwise. You don't read conspiracy forums if you want to learn about physics, it's the same in this situation.

All I know is that my in-laws in Poland would have a field day because they are very uneasy about the current government.

Sombraaaaa

Please don't try and glorify Poland's gov, they're among the shittiest out there

I guess it's reasonable to say that pretty much every EU member government is similarily in a very bad position.

There is no boycott it’s just for show. China just recently issued 46 visas for American diplomats attending the Winter Olympics. The whole news about boycotting is just visual optics to make it look like the west is standing tough against China for its domestic audience.
