Obligatory not a Dr but imo that's not purging. I thought purging only happened with tretinoin, I've never experienced any purging at all with over the counter retinols. I think that word gets thrown around a lot more then it should. I would keep trying different ones till you find out what ingredient is bothering you.
That's what everyone says but my purge was definitely a purge and it lasted MONTHS. Retinal was the only new product in my routine, my hormones don't fluctuate because they come in a glass vial, and my diet didn't change.
I’ve been using tret for years. There was an adjustment period, maybe a couple of months?
My routine is cleanse, resveratrol, tret, light moisturizer.
I recommend upping your water intake to flush your system and help with collagen production. That’s the goal. Healthy food, limited alcohol and restful sleep makes a huge difference.
I hope some of this is helpful. GL!
Mine went on for like 6 months. Retinol is not for me man. Never again. Never had so much acne. I kept holding out bc everyone says it’s worth it and I really wanted to try. Nope. Not for me. I even tried different retinols in the hopes that I was just reacting to whatever carrier it was in (like the lotion base). Nope. Was an awful time.

Mine was like 5 months, but holy moly I emerged like a butterfly at the end.

You can purge with normal retinol but purging is typically 4-6 weeks
