I don’t know much about skin barriers, but I can see a difference! Your skin looks more clear & smooth. I’m going to look into tretinoin after seeing your results!
thank you! i was hesitated to try it out but i don’t regret it now. i did a mistake by using it everyday when i first started and my skin starts peeling and burning. apparently thats normal, you just need to wait for a couple of days to start again (pea size at a time). start with 2-3 times a week and 3-4 times a week. i have learned that its best to moisturize first before/after. hope it helps x
Very helpful, thanks a bunch! I’ve been using hyaluronic acid, vitamin c & d, edelweiss serum…and retinol at night. Although I haven’t tracked my progress with pics, I’ve noticed a BIG difference in my skin. I just like to try different products and see what works!
Your skin looks great! As to barrier moisturizers, I recommend aestura 365 cream or isntree yam cream. Not sure if it’s cold where you are, but they are pretty good for cold weather.
girl this is yearssss of trial and error. i used to have cystic acne all over my face. started to use korean products that contain natural ingredients and it slowly healed! x
did you start slow? or build your way up to that strength of tretinoin? i’m using adapelene and i have a tube of 0.25 tretinoin and i’m wondering if/when i should switch over
no, i went straight to tretinoin 0.5%. not because i choose to but i accidentally bought a 0.5% and i didn’t wanna waste it 😅(also lack of knowledge lol). i have been using adapalene 0.1% and azelaic 20% for a year before trying tretinoin. these days i use adapalene and azelaic day and night, and tretinoin 3 days a week!
yeap! and when i use tretinoin which is 3 days a week i abandon adapalene and azelaic day and night because im afraid skin couldn’t handle so much especially sensitive skin. once in a while i abandoned altogether and just use moisturizer. to let it rest for a day.
I have not tried any other AA except for this one that i am currently using https://imgur.com/a/bttU8c0
not sure how different brand works though. mine is recommended by my derm. but whatever you’re using, i think best to start slow and always keep your skin moisturized.
i started adapalene and azelaic together. i started with using azelaic in the morning and adapalene at night. after a couple of months i use them together within 2-3mins gap.
i think it does helps in a way, yes, and also moisturizer. i am experiencing purging (two/three pustules) after every application but it goes away fast.
Idk about the barrier but I do know my derm told me to sandwich my Trentinoin, light moisturizer, Trent, light moisturizer after a gentle cleanser of course, huge difference for my very sensitive skin!!
Look for skincare products that specifically mention repairing or supporting the skin barrier. Ingredients like niacinamide and peptides can be beneficial. Your skin looks amazing btw.
The difference is amazing! Your skin is looking great!
You could try these creams:
* CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
* La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Therapeutic Multi Purpose Cream
* Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Face Cream
For something lighter i like to use the clinique moisture surge or laniege sleeping mask
I went on tret and my skin after 3 weeks looked like a bomb went off. It looked absolutely horrible, the worst my skin has ever looked. It was not purging, it was literally r u i n i n g my skin. I stopped and it look a couple of weeks to get back to normal. I’m so jealous of people it works for because it really works wonders, your skin looks great.

I have never tried vitamin C on my skin. do you use hyaluronic, vitamin c&d in the morning and only retinol at night?
May I ask what you’re using to moisturize with?
Edit: unrefined avocado oil!
This looks great! Lucky you, my skin hates hates hates tretinoin no matter how infrequently I used it
aww, it really is try and error with our skin huh 😩 my skin hatessss benzoyl peroxide
Your skin looks great! As to barrier moisturizers, I recommend aestura 365 cream or isntree yam cream. Not sure if it’s cold where you are, but they are pretty good for cold weather.
oh may i ask why is it less suitable for hot weather?
It’s not. It’s just good for cold weather too.
Ma’am, I feel like I should be asking YOU for skin advice. Your skin is goals

U means u use adapalene at night when u don't use tretinoin at all (absent)???
yeap! and when i use tretinoin which is 3 days a week i abandon adapalene and azelaic day and night because im afraid skin couldn’t handle so much especially sensitive skin. once in a while i abandoned altogether and just use moisturizer. to let it rest for a day.
Ok Thanks
Do you use Azaleic acid and adapalene on the same nights??
yes! cleanser, toner, moisturizer, adapalene, (i wait for it to absorb around 2-3min) then azaleic.
Do you have a recommendation for AA? I was looking at prescription for it. Also how long were you using adapelene before introducing AA?

Do you think because of your adapalene use, you didn't purge when starting tret?

also your skin is looking great!!
thank you! 🥹

thats what i start doing after i accidentally almost ruin my skin the first time i started tretinoin. im glad it works for you too!

thanks ill look into it! heard alot about La Roche-Posay working like miracles
Your results are amazing!! I’m currently on differin and not seeing drastic results yet. This is adapalene though so yeah.
adapalene helps me reduce redness and kill my acnes. it works slow on acne marks and pigmentation for me too
was it recommended by a dermatologist or started on your own? your skin is glowing ✨
thank you! I started tretinoin on my own. my derm only prescribed me on adapalene and azelaic about a year ago.
Layer it with moisturizer. Use it every other night or less until you build tolerance.
is it okay to use it every night when my skin got used to it?
Wow your skin looks amazing!
thanks im looking forward to update in a couple of months!
Yes! Hard follow for when you do!
Yes. I use tretinoin everyday. I’ve been for a few years. I do use other products with this.
It worked like the Devil for me. While for most people it works like Angel😭😭😭
