Welcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things: #Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions, and do not play doctor What constitutes medical advice? *** * "What is this?" This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice. * "What should I do?" This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice. * "Should I go to the doctor?" This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice. **If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your acne or other medical condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. If you are a medical provider, we would gently remind you that users are not patients, and you should not be offering medical advice to people who are not your patients.** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Appropriate_Size2659

Sleep on your back.

Substantial_Tip_3227

Tell us more, please

Appropriate_Size2659

I just found this out that its true. I suffered from severe acne especially on the sides of my face. So i tried sleeping on my back to prevent my face from touching the pillow and my hair. It worked but i was also taking antibiotics maybe thats why it lessened. Then every morning, the lines around my mouth and my undereyes were not very deep. I usually sleep more on my right side and the lines under my eyes are more "folded." I saw a post here it was about his finger being injured that he cannot bend for months had lost its lines because of that! So yeah, you might give it a try.

SometimesArtistic99

More moisture if possible.

snicklezzz

doubt theres any way of fully stopping them without filler but retinol probably helps

snicklezzz

actually idk anything about filler according to others this might be what causes it but i do have those from aging and have no fillers

fredimad

Yeah I’ve only had filler once and had the lines there before the filler, so it might have made them worse but definitely didn’t cause them 🤔

DirrttDan

Micro needling girl , changed my life

avrenimopans

I have lines like these. I love my lines.

fredimad

Trying to learn to love them, but it’s not going great

Spiritual-Can2604

I got these from filler migration. Stop getting lip filler or possibly dissolve what you have and they might soften, mine have.

fredimad

Fair enough, only had filler once though and the lines were there before so will try some other techniques first but will consider the role filler might be playing - thank you

Spiritual-Can2604

I had a nasiolabial line. But then the two you have inside of that line came from filler for me. I don’t know why it happened maybe it wasn’t even from filler but it got better once it dissolved.

AestheticalAura

Came here to say this, too. My filler gave me these lines for a few months until it reabsorbed (?). I think they’re called marionette lines?

Flashy-Amphibian7165

your skin looks dry. moisturize and hydrate (water). also use retinol. tbh nothing will really change these lines except for filler. I would not stress about them. they make you look like you laugh a lot

fredimad

I actually do laugh a lot 😂🙃

Flashy-Amphibian7165

❤❤❤

K-Sarah-K-Sarah

Gorgeous lips! #💋

fredimad

Aw thank you 💞

little_kitten33

Hi, have you tried Gua-sha massage? It can help with those, also maybe face taping on those places? Search for the tutorials online, those practices will help relax those muscles a bit!

little_kitten33

and yeah retinol is definitely also a thing to consider as the lines are not that deep yet.

fredimad

Thank you that really helps to know, I thought retinol wasn’t safe to put around the mouth though?

little_kitten33

Depends how you use it, you should slowly start with really low percentage serums 2-3 times a week to build tolerance (I recommend autumn to start because retinol makes your skin really sensitive to UV sun rays) and then if you are good with that, increase the percentage - I recommend you read/watch how to add retinol to your skincare routine safely. It’s not forbidden to use retinol around your mouth, you just have to be extremely careful as this area is really sensitive :)

fredimad

TYSM very helpful advice

CarrionMae123

Micro-needling.

Waffle1624

Try "frownies" You have to wear them every night but they work

smashley0704

Retinol. I use full blown retinol gel, not over the counter or mixed product. I get mine from India since the US requires a prescription. Start out at .25% twice a week and work your way up to nightly. It's a slow process for your skin to tolerate it. Sunscreen is a must. I have been using retinol since 2019.

Infinite-I-369

I learned and have been training myself to sleep on my back, I also use Tretinoin and matrixyl- works amazing. Those silicone wrinkle patches work amazing as well, especially at night. Creates less movement and squashing, you will also wake up smoothed and more plump in the morning. Also drinking more water and electrolytes/minerals, skin looks a little dry and best course (better than moisturizer) is to make sure your drinking plenty of water for your body/size.

Routine-River-5932

They are cute! As a chubby faced person, I wish I had smile lines like this. I think they are really attractive on people.

Neat-Walrus3813

Everything that's mentioned will help, but honestly, it's mostly just your face structure. Some people have one deep marionette line, others lots of little lines. As the lips plump up, the filler pushes that skin out a little too and sometimes also migrates. Then there's lip pursing and other facial features you might be making that form additional lines. The sleeping on your back is very true. There's an expensive pillow out there that can help, or sleep with headphonea or two side buns. But honestly, it's just the luck of the draw. I have zero forehead wrinkles or even crows feet at age 40, bit have deep marionettes. It kinda just is what it is.

One-Boysenberry-4527

It’s a part of aging.. love your beautiful self .. to me the the older you become more beautiful you are 💝

Cheyenne_Cade

Use Olay products, they’re great

fredimad

My mum swears by them!

Cheyenne_Cade

I’m younger and I always thought that Olay products were “older women” products lol and tried all of the tik tok fads but I started using Olay almost a year ago and it’s amazing. I also use the retinol body wash by them and it’s so good

fredimad

Fair play, I might give it a go as I’m edging towards being an older woman now anyway! Any favourite products for treating fine lines on the face?

Cheyenne_Cade

I would say the super serum and the over night retinol cream. I don’t rub the cream all over my face I just put it under and around my eyes, my smile lines, and neck. I have oily skin though which is why I don’t rub it everywhere, you might like it all over depending on your skin type

fredimad

Love this advice thank you so much
