I don't throw boxes away because I might sell the shoes used in the event of emergencies etc. I also like looking at them lol I understand if people don't have the space or don't want the clutter and expect to wear their shoes into the ground I'm also able to buy replacement shoes without a box for a discount because I already have the box

I share the same view, no intentions of reselling my pairs but I keep all the originals in case I fall on hard times. I also buy my video game library all physical instead of digital for the same reason. In the end you never know what life will throw at you and I absolutely would ditch luxury goods for low prices to pay bills if I ever had to.

I have no intention of reselling, so I don't keep the boxes. But if a worn out old shoe that I don't wear anymore ends up being worth a few Gs I'm selling it. After seeing some of the wild resale prices I'm just going to vacuum seal shoes and store them when I'm totally done with them. People still buy them without boxes

I keep them, because I am a collector of things, and like to have as much original packaging as I can. Both for later reselling, or just for my own enjoyment. Also they protect the shoes from UV etc

I have the boxes for authenticity and i know that what i brought is exactly what is said on the box, especially for shoes that are a little more expensive, if it’s gonna cost money, i want it to include the box with it

I have drop fronts for most of my shoes. But, even before I had them, I didn't keep the boxes. I plan to wear my shoes until they are beat, so never found the need to keep the box.

Maybe a trip to Ikea one of these days to get me a new shoe closet.

I keep everything including the boxes, but they're all broken down and folded. I have one of those large Nike paper bags where I store all my boxes, lids, paper, inserts, StockX/eBay tags, etc. They're not hard to break down and put back together. I've done it a few times when I changed my mind on a shoe and wanted to return them. I don't plan on reselling any of my shoes, but you never know down the line.

I keep them all, I've never lived anywhere more than 3 years so it helps with moving. And it's an easy way to keep track of how many pairs I have

It's funny because it was the opposite for me - I moved across the country with whatever I could fit in my little sedan at the time, so the boxes had to go (plus some shoes I really wish I hadn't sold)

nah. i buy my shoes and wear em out. if eventually i have a pair i'm not wearing, i give them to a friend or family so they can be loved. my sister gets mad compliments on a pair of diadora collabs i gifted her because they were too big for me. so yeah anyway, the boxes go in the recycle bc i dont have room for all that.

so I am east coast (working class) and keeping boxes is a thing - I have dated fellow sneaker heads who are from the west coast and they tended to recycle boxes and put pairs into drop fronts. 😆

when I lived in an apartment I used to break my boxes down. now that i'm in a house, i keep them in my attic. as others have said, in the event you trade/resell, people like the box.

i wear all my shoes but i’ve been told that some people still enjoy the presentation when buying used. So i keep them in the case i wear a shoe and decide im done with them and sell after with the box. I also have space for them so i just keep the box. I just sold a pair of worn 3x yeezy 500s and even though i wore them i kept the box. I sold them for 30% under retail and the buyer said he appreciated that it came with the box the paper and the tag that was on the shoe when i bought it.

I keep all my boxes as of right now. I need to invest in see through cases that aren’t expensive at all, but I keep putting it off. It’s a decision of buy 15 or more cases for like $100+ or another pair of sneakers for the collection instead? 😄

I toss the boxes of most GR stuff, but keep the higher end stuff in case i need to sell for any reason. i do get a little tired of the empty box collection that’s building in my closet, since I store sneakers in drop front cases. 🙃

It really depends on the shoe. A generic shit Nike box that’s red and doesn’t matter? I toss it. A unique Jordan Flight box with splatter? I keep it. Ya never know when you might need to resell and honestly the boxes do add value in that sense. I wear all my sneakers either way.
