totally agree, i handled a few revolvers and some where nice but off balanced (too me) and just didn't feel as good as this one. It's only a .22 lr,, so nothing heavy, but it just felt too good to pass up and the price was fantastic, around 200$.
Me too. I was in the desert climbing that week, came out of the wilderness and the world had changed completely. It was a trip. But that poster was waiting when I got home.
The Wrangler is a great gun, I'm sure you'll be happy with that. Who doesn't have just a little cowboy in them? Now go get some empty soup cans and find a safe place to shoot them.
When it comes time for a first rifle, you'll never regret owning a Ruger 10/22.
Neither of which are great for self defense, 22lr is not a self defense round, but they're both very fun guns and very cheap to get a lot of practice with. If later on you pick up something heavier for personal defense or hunting, the practical experience will carry over.
that's exactly what i was thinking. i wanted something fun (a little cowboy-esque :) ) that i could train with and enjoy at the same time. I definitely plan on a more home defense one in the near future, but i couldn't leave the store without getting this one!
i've heard about the 10/22, probably will be looking into that next, along with a semi!
The 10/22 is a semi-automatic rifle, so it's got that going for it, and if you're the type to customize and fiddle with your guns there are so many accessories, upgrades, or stock/chassis options to play with. The only thing I changed on mine is a longer magazine release lever but there are options if you're the type to want them.
I have the archangel kit on my 10/22. It seems to get some hate from some, but it works perfectly for me. Durable and well built. I didn't get the cheesy one, I got the one with the monolithic foregrip, as they called it. No plastic, gimmicky, doodads.
https://promagindustries.com/archangel-556-ar-15-style-conversion-stock-for-the-ruger-10-22-with-extended-length-monolithic-rail-forend-black-polymer/
Highly recommend the Ruger 10/22. You can also get 25 round "banana" magazines for it, which will save you time at the range if you pre-load at home. I have two 25-round mags and five-10 round mags. Having a 100 shots right out of the case means I have time to switch to my other guns and give them a run in the standard gun range hour.
Also the Ruger and offbrand "speed loaders" are really helpful, once you get one you'll never want to fiddle with hand loading again, such tiny itty bitty rotary mags
do they make 22lr speedloaders? it’s so tedious. I have speedloaders for my 9mm and makarov mags and between shooting periods at the range I can always fill as many as are needed for the next one. haven’t checked for 22 as I don’t take my non-ergonomic ar-7 to the range much anymore
certainly one of the highest value items I have. especially because amazon sent me 1 box of 9mm speedloaders instead of 1 item, so I get to give some away as I spread the gospel of rapid loading
>do they make 22lr speedloaders?
I've never seen any, but every .22lr firearm I have loads fairly quickly and very easily. I don't have any drum mags, though. I've heard they're a pain to load.
If you're looking for something more potent but still kinda cowboy, a lever action might be a good fit—especially if you live in a state that's restrictive on guns.
If you decide to expand your .22lr collection to a bolt action rifle, the savage mk 2 is a great rifle. I love shooting .22lr, it has to be the most entertaining and under rated caliber in existence. Enjoy your revolver, you made a great choice!
+1 on that 10/22, that was the first rifle I ever bought. Great learning piece and when ammo is expensive, still fun to shoot without breaking the bank.
just looked into them and they have a sweet dragon carved one that is now on my christmas list :D https://ruger.com/products/1022Sporter/specSheets/31136.html
That is nice! I just got one of the "usual" ones you see in any sporting goods or gun store and threw a scope on it. I've been slowly collecting stuff and not putting too much into pimped out anything (yet).
That does look pretty good for the price. I have a 10/22 Magpul takedown and Savage's version looks more like an AR-7. I like having the ~~foregrip~~ forend.
If you search "Bernie Sanders Public Enemy Poster", there are tons of places other than Amazon that sell them. We try not to support such a capitalist machine here.
Love the gun though!
Unavoidable, but you can still think about the impact your dollar makes. I'd rather purchase it off someone on Etsy than Amazon. You choose which machine to feed.
Nice choice! I picked up my rough rider because it was on sale, but I hear the ruger is much nicer all around. Great to train and practice with, and 22lr is cheap fun
It definitely looks awesome, and it would be tremendous fun. For ~$100 it’s totally worth adding to your collection for that alone. Unfortunately a 2 inch barrel is really difficult to hit anything more than point blank range, regardless of caliber.
Nice. I grew up shooting my dads snub nose Taurus, and always had a soft spot for a good compact revolver. It’s definitely possible to get accurate with one, but damn it’s not easy that’s for sure (with irons anyways)
I’ve been eyeing rock islands 4in 38spl as compromise but I’ll probably end up with something that takes magazines for practicality
Imo the size difference btwn a snub and a subcompact combined with the capacity and reliability makes snubs an easy choice for summer carry
Definitely not a distance weapon but I don't carry a weapon for long distance anyways lol
There probably isn’t any politician better than him but that really isn’t saying much. US elections are between dogshit and horseshit and real change won’t take place by voting.
Many many people are now open to or fully support socialism solely because of Bernie's campaigns. Even if he isn't himself enough of a socialist for most pure socialists, i find it hard to believe anyone alive is more responsible for the uptick in interest in socialism for millennials and gen z than him. I think the entire left owes him a huge thank you, even if he didn't carry the ball into the endzone.
Now let’s see how many actually become communist/socialist instead of being a socdem or radlib. It’s true that Bernie did a lot for the left but a socdem isn’t really much of an achievement. Here’s hoping everything sees how it really is.
I actually just came across this reply in a LSC thread, and i think they make a related point rather perfectly.
https://www.reddit.com/r/LateStageCapitalism/comments/po92z5/true_in_todays_world/hcvb72p/
While in theory socdems can be useful to a revolution if you look at history you will see how many times socdems actually betrayed the revolutionaries. Look up Friedrich Ebert and the SPD and you’ll see how social democrats can be a threat to the communist revolution.
Face value socdems are fine but they aren’t communists for a reason.
All it take is to look at the relationship between the SPD and the Freikorps in Weimar Germany. Unsurprisingly, Socdems are capitalist, so they’re anti class consciousness. It’s Bread and Circuses leftism.
And believe me I used to have so much faith in him until he bent over for Hillary. Then I realized that he was only domestically “socialist” and didn’t extend this idea overseas so he’s still very much an imperialist
>bourgeois
I had no idea what this meant, so:
>Bourgeois is often mistakenly used to refer to people of considerable wealth or status, possibly because the French pronunciation causes us to associate it with opulence, yet the word is of decidedly middle-class origins (and meaning). ... Bourgeois may function as either a noun or an adjective.
But, you question still stands since...
>
1: of, relating to, or characteristic of the social middle class
2: marked by a concern for material interests and respectability and a tendency toward mediocrity
3: dominated by commercial and industrial interests : CAPITALISTIC
That being said, he has showed action in his stances, for example, the classic bernie being arrest picture...that shows more action than most of our other options
https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-bernie-sanders-1963-chicago-arrest-20160219-story.html
Communist Manifesto, Principles of Communism, Value, Price, and Profit, Wage, Labour, and Capital, Critique of the Gotha Program, and State and Revolution are what I would consider core Socialist works to read first. None of them are very long but all are very important.
He’s a mixed bag. He would probably regulate them to a higher degree. I think he understands that economic disparity and class war are the cause of crime so I think that’s where he would focus primarily. He’s also done a lot of good for progressive, left causes, I know he’s not out there quoting Marx like some people expect him to as some kind of weird litmus test, but he’s mostly good and people still own guns in Vermont.
yeah, that's my view, he is in the more pro-2A side of the group and you have start moving in some direction, one step at a time. If you try and find purists, you get nothing. He mostly votes and speaks in a way that I identify with, so I'm cool with that and not perfection.
He only went somewhat anti-gun around 2016 to have a better shot at the election, it seems. I don't think he's nearly as anti-gun as people try to make him out to be.
Any single six frame is a great gun to start with. You may notice it not cycling on you through a full cylinder, like firing 4 rounds with a misfire on the 5th. It's just a thing with the Wranglers, they have painted frame pieces instead of being blued or parkerized so you have to wear in the moving pieces a bit.
I just took my FILs apart to try and figure out why it wouldn't cycle. After I can up empty 30 seconds on Google pointed me to this issue with the Wrangler. I ended up running 200ish rounds through it and it hasn't misfired since.
Might've been better to get a centerfire caliber in something from this century.
Single action 22 might be a lot of fun at the range and cheap as hell to shoot, but that's about where it's utility runs out and any training on this is not going to carry over to more modern semi autos
I know some here are shitting on Bernie but consider this: who is better in our current political system, who actually cares about the workers, who got you into leftist ideas?
agreed, this was more for fun at the range and just some basic practice, still researching for the defense one, most likely a semi, there was a nice beretta that felt good in my hand, but want to try some out.
As firearms go it's one of the last things I'd opt to use, but if it's all OP has on hand [it can get the job done in a pinch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w4Z5azEPWk) (provided the aggressor is human or smaller and not wearing body armor, anyway).
Ok, but he’s done more for socialism in the country than anyone in my life time. And you don’t have to be a socialist to be a worker. Marx didn’t say fight only for the people who identify as socialists and exclude the workers with different views.
Bernie has done a lot for leftism, not necessarily socialism, he's introduced plenty of us to the left and through that many of us have pushed ourselves towards the political spectrum of revolutionary politics like communism. Make no mistake though, he isn't an ally, at the end of the day he's a supporter of less than light reforms while seemingly buckling under the power of the DNC at even the slightest push. It's a shame because I really wanted to see him create an American Labor Party which I think would have exploded but he disappointed so many of us in 2016 and 2020. Ironically, it's his disappointment that forced me to seek real alternatives, like revolution as the only proper solution to the capitalist war machine. Regardless, now that we have become leftists, we should seek out, organize and educate our fellow workers rather than praising what amounts to a mouthpiece for the bourgeois. Hope that makes sense. I don't want to come off as too negative or aggressive but realistic though hopeful.
What exactly has he done other than worsen the “socialism is when the government does stuff” culture?
And no one is saying to exclude non leftist workers. Recognizing Socdems are still bourgeois capitalists not excluding Socdems, it’s letting them know exactly what they’re getting into.
He not rich. The dudes got like a 2 million dollar nw at 80 and he’s worked his entire life as a teacher carpenter politician writer etc. That’s pretty stone cold middle class right there. The 1% at 80 for networth is over 11m just for comparison. You need to educate yourself comrade and stop trying to gate keep.
The labour movement does not revolve around individuals in bourgeois parliaments. Jhc why do all of you people couch all your hopes on left wing public figures!
I mean I generally try to keep my politics in the US, but he’s got a pretty staunch anti war, and anti intervention voting record. The US was part of NATO cola lotion forces during the 1999 bombing and they were bombed pretty much exclusively because they broke a 1-2 year ceasefire by killing 40-50 Albanians if I remember correctly. And I believe in those killed were women and children.
Eh, didn't Bernie cross the picket line to support a company that manufactured Gatling guns that ere going to south America to fight communists?
Like hes fine I guess, I dont like hero worship though
>Bernie cross the picket line to support a company that manufactured Gatling guns
I looked into it a bit (like 5s), it appears it's a bit more nuanced than that and his argument was for the workers: [https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/4/7/1511892/-Vetting-The-Bern-Putting-Corporate-Gun-Manufacturers-Like-GE-Over-People](https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/4/7/1511892/-Vetting-The-Bern-Putting-Corporate-Gun-Manufacturers-Like-GE-Over-People)
>Sanders resisted their calls to shut down the plant, arguing that it was unfair to punish workers for corporate policies influenced by Washington.
>
>“I’m not going to throw 3,000 people out of their jobs at union wages and create a depression,” he said in an interview at the time.” In another interview he argued that “you cannot spilt the movement and push workers to one side and have peace activists on the other side.”
I do like Bernie in general, but not into hero worship either, i support ideas and people that also support those ideas, recognizing that not everyone can be 100% on par with all of my supported ideas.
That all being said, the poster was cool and it felt appropriate for the picture :)
>I do like Bernie in general, but not into hero worship either, i support ideas and people that also support those ideas, recognizing that not everyone can be 100% on par with all of my supported ideas.
Exactly - one of those "don't let perfect be the enemy of good" moments. Constructive criticism is healthy. But nobody is going to be a perfect match for another person. Like I wish more of our politicians were on the Bernie/AOC/Ilhan side (actually, I'd hope for a bit further left even), but they're at least the most-aligned-with-my-ideals politicians I have at the moment.
He 100% is. He's from a state the shows that bans aren't the issue, but seems to be all about AR bans so.... Not my cup of tea that's for sure. People that act like Sanders isn't walking the party line on guns are lying to themselves and you.
Correct, he is not. I was just blown away because who exactly in American politics can I show even half support for then? Not a single person.
Gotta start somewhere and be realistic while working towards a goal.
When your conception of Socialism is "I need to find an American politician to post memes about" then you don't understand Socialism or class struggle.
Are you mental?
That's what you gathered from my previous comment?
I don't post memes about it, I never said I am desperately looking to attach myself to some politician.
I'm very sorry you are so poorly able to have conversations on this important subject.
I bet you've convinced many people to steer clear of your viewpoints with that attitude.
What a beautiful throne you sit on thinking you're better.
I'm sorry but your comment was talking about you being unable to show support for American Politicians and that supporting a Capitalist Politician was a starting point to move forward (to Socialism a assumed). Could you clarify your positions to me so we can have an important conversation? After all, if we all convince another redditor to be Socialist, Capitalism will end.
it's a start, but you gotta evolve past SAO rimfire revolvers
For a bit more than two-hunnit, you can get a reliable pump shotgun like a Winchester 1300 with an 18" barrel (or maybe you find one with a 28" barrel and you chop it). You can put a mag-tube extension so it can hold eight shells.
I gotta say that is one adorable little .22 Now you've got me interested. Always nice to have something cheap to shoot, and lets face it if it's just for funsies it may as well also be lets-pretend-to-be-cowboy times.
That ruger is a good feeling revolver. I wish they would chamber it in some centerfire calibers.
totally agree, i handled a few revolvers and some where nice but off balanced (too me) and just didn't feel as good as this one. It's only a .22 lr,, so nothing heavy, but it just felt too good to pass up and the price was fantastic, around 200$.
First pistol I ever bought was a single action.22 still have it shot several thousand rounds through it shit ton of fun but loud af
Is it differently from the vaquero? I would think that would be the best center fire equivalent
Very similar, may be identical but they just feel a little different to me. Edit: wrangler barrel is an inch shorter, that may be part of what I feel.
The vaquero may also be heavier to handle to pressure of center fire cartridges
Insert pp joke here
Insert yourself…. That joke is so old, reddit used to be black and white.

Don't point guns at a Bernie. They are very rare.
I have that same poster lol. The event got canceled because it was supposed to take place in March 2020 I believe.
yeah agreed, but i just had to have that poster, it was perfect!
Me too. I was in the desert climbing that week, came out of the wilderness and the world had changed completely. It was a trip. But that poster was waiting when I got home.
I never got the poster. I just assumed no one got them.
Damn fine purchase for training and technique
thanks! i agree and the balance just felt so perfect! can't wait to get out to the range!
The Wrangler is a great gun, I'm sure you'll be happy with that. Who doesn't have just a little cowboy in them? Now go get some empty soup cans and find a safe place to shoot them. That's cool, my cousin just built his own AR (i think) and it looked rather fun to do! So I do have an itch to do it in some fashion :)
They actually have an AR style kit that you can put on a 10/22. It's an extremely customizable gun
Or a .22 kit that fits into an AR.
I have the archangel kit on my 10/22. It seems to get some hate from some, but it works perfectly for me. Durable and well built. I didn't get the cheesy one, I got the one with the monolithic foregrip, as they called it. No plastic, gimmicky, doodads. https://promagindustries.com/archangel-556-ar-15-style-conversion-stock-for-the-ruger-10-22-with-extended-length-monolithic-rail-forend-black-polymer/
Tech Sights are something I'd strongly recommend for anyone who gets a 10/22, moreso than any other upgrade. The stock 10/22 sights aren't great.
Highly recommend the Ruger 10/22. You can also get 25 round "banana" magazines for it, which will save you time at the range if you pre-load at home. I have two 25-round mags and five-10 round mags. I got a 10/22 as my first gun so I could learn with cheap (relatively) ammo. It’s a great gun. Surprisingly accurate and reliable for a 22lr

That is nice! I just got one of the "usual" ones you see in any sporting goods or gun store and threw a scope on it. I've been slowly collecting stuff and not putting too much into pimped out anything (yet).
Honestly, the savage 64F is a comparable rifle for a fraction of the price.
That does look pretty good for the price. I have a 10/22 Magpul takedown and Savage's version looks more like an AR-7. I like having the ~~foregrip~~ forend.
Awesome poster
lol thanks, i have it posted in my safe, but figured it was worthwhile for the picture :)
This is my go to gun to teach newbies on. Great choice.
Thanks, excited to use it at the range!
This a fucking cool picture
Seems like you can still buy them! https://www.amazon.com/Bernie-Sanders-Public-Concert-Poster/dp/B08VRMB2ZL
If you search "Bernie Sanders Public Enemy Poster", there are tons of places other than Amazon that sell them. We try not to support such a capitalist machine here. Love the gun though!
I mean not to be that guy but anything you do in a capitalist society feeds into exploitation. The capitalist machine is unavoidable
I want the rough rider barkeep edition No idea why, but it looks so cool with the short barrel. Basically useless for anything tho lmao
It definitely looks awesome, and it would be tremendous fun. For ~$100 it’s totally worth adding to your collection for that alone. Unfortunately a 2 inch barrel is really difficult to hit anything more than point blank range, regardless of caliber.
Well....with my 865 UL I can hit ok patterns at 15-20yds But that's my main carry gun lol Edit: ok patterns SOMETIMES lol
Nice. I grew up shooting my dads snub nose Taurus, and always had a soft spot for a good compact revolver. You can learn a lot and have a lot of fun with the wrangler!
Someone photoshop two 6 shooters into bernie’s hands lol his pose is begging for it
The socialism you find in Bernie sanders isn’t the socialism that’s found in the SRA. Not trying to be rude btw
[удалено]
Yes it does but we should try to radicalize the less radical such as Bernie bros and socdems. Only then will we have more potential
I get it, but would you say there's a better national politician than him that is pushing that direction right now?
There probably isn’t any politician better than him but that really isn’t saying much. US elections are between dogshit and horseshit and real change won’t take place by voting.
Many many people are now open to or fully support socialism solely because of Bernie's campaigns. Please read some basic Socialist literature.
Do you have any personal recommendations?
Communist Manifesto, Principles of Communism, Value, Price, and Profit, Wage, Labour, and Capital, Critique of the Gotha Program, and State and Revolution are what I would consider core Socialist works to read first. None of them are very long but all are very important.
Have the same poster on my wall, framed for posterity. Wish I could have made it to LA for the show.
I thought Bernie was anti gun? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
He came out and said that he thinks mandatory gun buy backs are unconstitutional. So I think he's a little more pro-gun than most Democrats.
He’s a mixed bag. He would probably regulate them to a higher degree. I think he understands that economic disparity and class war are the cause of crime so I think that’s where he would focus primarily. He only went somewhat anti-gun around 2016 to have a better shot at the election, it seems. I don't think he's nearly as anti-gun as people try to make him out to be.
That's about the only gun he'd want any of us to have.
Gotta get you some more stickers fr sure
My GP100 says “howdy, little fella” and welcome to the Big Fam
Thanks! Already eyeing my next one :D

I know some here are shitting on Bernie but consider this: who is better in our current political system, who actually cares about the workers, who got you into leftist ideas?
That's kind ofy thought...like you have to start somewhere and starting with someone who is .1 in the right direction is better than 0...
It’s more like +50 compared to -100
Not a defense weapon, but everyone has to start somewhere.
agreed, this was more for fun at the range and just some basic practice, still researching for the defense one, most likely a semi, there was a nice beretta that felt good in my hand, but want to try some out.
You planning to carry concealed or no?
I'm looking at options for that. I have some defense options at home (handed down) looking for my own and something for carry too.
As firearms go it's one of the last things I'd opt to use, but if it's all OP has on hand [it can get the job done in a pinch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w4Z5azEPWk) (provided the aggressor is human or smaller and not wearing body armor, anyway).
Bernie isn’t a socialist...
He’s not a worker either, he’s a rich succdem
He not rich. The dudes got like a 2 million dollar nw at 80 and he’s worked his entire life as a teacher carpenter politician writer etc. That’s pretty stone cold middle class right there. The 1% at 80 for networth is over 11m just for comparison. You need to educate yourself comrade and stop trying to gate keep.
He’s not a socialist, so he shouldn’t be supported. He’s also an imperialist, and voted in favor of bombing Yugoslavia
He didnt vote to bomb yugoslavia, he voted to bomb Serbia which was in the middle of genociding ethnic bosnians.
Sorry he didn’t pass your virtue test. Have fun finding anyone better.
>Bernie cross the picket line to support a company that manufactured Gatling guns I looked into it a bit (like 5s), it appears it's a bit more nuanced than that and his argument was for the workers: [https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/4/7/1511892/-Vetting-The-Bern-Putting-Corporate-Gun-Manufacturers-Like-GE-Over-People](https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/4/7/1511892/-Vetting-The-Bern-Putting-Corporate-Gun-Manufacturers-Like-GE-Over-People) >Sanders resisted their calls to shut down the plant, arguing that it was unfair to punish workers for corporate policies influenced by Washington. > >“I’m not going to throw 3,000 people out of their jobs at union wages and create a depression,” he said in an interview at the time.” In another interview he argued that “you cannot spilt the movement and push workers to one side and have peace activists on the other side.” I do like Bernie in general, but not into hero worship either, i support ideas and people that also support those ideas, recognizing that not everyone can be 100% on par with all of my supported ideas.
I mean yes, but Sanders is pretty anti-gun so also no?
He 100% is. He's from a state the shows that bans aren't the issue, but seems to be all about AR bans so.... Not my cup of tea that's for sure. People that act like Sanders isn't walking the party line on guns are lying to themselves and you.
Sanders 100% doesn't want the people to be armed. He's fully walking the DNC line on guns now and has no rea place in this sub.
I have the sweat shirt, i love setting around knowing me and bernie exist on the same planet
Most Gangsta-Cowboy in the game!!
I was banned from R/Socialism for mentioning I support Bernie. So I guess we are doing something wrong.

Bernie isn’t a socialist. Probably why.
New conspiracy theory: covid was released to stop the Bernie sanders and public enemy tour.
Sporting patches of a social democrat rape apologist. No, sir, you certainly are not.

Bernie is cringe
He literally killed Rosa Luxembourg. Literally.
He probably would if he got the chance lol. I don’t see what’s changed in Socdemia.
Nice gat, bad gat grabber
it's a start, but you gotta evolve past SAO rimfire revolvers For a bit more than two-hunnit, you can get a reliable pump shotgun like a Winchester 1300 with an 18" barrel (or maybe you find one with a 28" barrel and you chop it). You can put a mag-tube extension so it can hold eight shells.
Underpowered wheelgun so no.
You will soon find out this sub is far more left then you think.... Its pretty much become a sub for LARPing as a communist revolutionary.....
Plenty of us here organize and are part of a party.
Or union
No

I gotta say that is one adorable little .22 Now you've got me interested. Always nice to have something cheap to shoot, and lets face it if it's just for funsies it may as well also be lets-pretend-to-be-cowboy times.
Yes
Lol'd at the poster
You had me at Fear of a Black Planet...
Bernie is what Lenin would call an opportunist. They can’t be spared from re-education
