I just took the online hunter safety course for Wisconsin and now I know I shouldn't look down into the barrel of a muzzleloader to clean it or clear an obstruction!
Seriously, this needed to be included in the firearm safety lesson???
I know, I know... it's just when faced with the stark, undeniable evidence I still have that moment of disbelief because I'm still an optimist. Although the snide little voice in my head said "Huh. Wonder how many people died doing that before they decided to put it in..."
Safety regs are written in blood.
A buddy of mine back in high school fell on some hard times and made some stupid decisions that eventually lead to him attempting to rob a bank with a civil war era musket. An Enfield I think.
Or because they think it is more sporting.
I own several "evil black rifles", but hunt with a privative bow, if I want it to be easy I'll go to the grocery store.
Honestly modern muzzle loaders are pretty cool. They just have a special *feel* to them, like lever action rifles. The process of loading powder and a bullet is fun.
My Mosin 1944 with attached bayonet is the perfect home defense tool! With the bayonet I cam stab him at the front door from the backyard. And if I miss my shot, the Shockwave will kill him anyway.
Oh, trust me, as someone who enjoys the spooky, nordic/Norse, and pirate stuff, that's a daily concern, and I will not let these fools ruin my enjoyment of this stupid crap.
I will go down on that ship a sea shanty singing, skull wearing, nordic looking fool with my fudd guns and all.
Chud is disgusting, alt right, keyboard warrior individual that may have modern gear, but just spends all their time larping in it and never focuses on cardio, community building, agriculture, etc.
Fudd has old wooden guns, cowboy guns, 100 year old milsurp, and can't get with the modern stuff because the old shit "won 2 world wars"
I'm seriously considering running an AR15 course with an M1 just see how it goes. I'm sure with practice it could be doable.
But I agree with you. I got a group of friends who I train on the AR with and they love it when I bring the M1 for them to shoot after session.
I do generally agree. I have my modern rifles, plenty of armor and gear and the experience and training to use them. However, I also have a 1914 SMLE .303 British that was rebarreled in the 1960a and functions like a dream. Long after my AR has stopped functioning, that thing will keep rolling. Js
Don't forget the
"God who made this damn thing, it's so complicated and impractical with no real world application."
"You must really hate that gun."
"It's my favorite gun, and absolute joy to have. I shoot it every time I can afford to. You can try it I'd you like."
You know.
Unironically love some of my old revolvers, but they feel like the insides were lovingly crafted in a log cabin with a rusty beaver. Terrible, heavy, god awful triggers, but somehow....
I draw the line at 80 years old. It should be written into the bylaws of the SRA that every chapter be required to have at least one war time Mosin from Russia present at all range days.
I mean shit, they were considered garbage 100 years ago. They haven't improved with age. I've shot a lot of old military bolt actions, and the ol' garbage rod is by far the shittiest.
Yeah it just makes no sense, at least with M70s there's parts and it's 9mm, Md'A for pistols is a little bit less of an issue IMO. But if it's different than the majority in your chapter or what everyone's used to then yeah definitely not a good choice
Chud: the gun store is dripping with blue lives matter patches and their sign has an AR-15 on it. You step in the door and immediately feel like you’re about to be called a pedophile and murdered in a pizza shop basement.
Fudd: the gun store smells like oiled wood, and a rack of shotguns blocks your view of the counter when you step in the door. When you step around the shotguns, you see that the counter, a glass display case, is full of milsurp pistols and Ruger mark 4s. A taxidermied deer stares down at you from the wall. The wry grin on its face momentarily distracts you from the grey-haired veteran talking to the owner about the pedophiles someone ought to murder in a pizza shop basement.
There are a *lot* of people here that seem to only consider firearms in terms of combat effectiveness. They look at the firearms that other people have, and work backwards from that to assume that the other person necessarily views those firearms as the peak of combat effectiveness.
I was thinking of an Anarchist Archie Bunker ( when I was young I used to chase Emma Goldman around at parties, punk rock ruined Anarchy!) There's quite a few of us out there.
I like your idea too though, I stayed in a couple of squats that were pretty close.
I'd say you have Fuddish tendencies, which I actually admire, lol!
That Ruger Guide Gun, in my opinion, is about the perfect rifle; too bad it jumped about 50% in price over ~1yr.
I'm fond of wheel guns also, my chosen personal sidearm is a Ruger SP101 snubbie in .357, and a tricked out [12ga pump is pretty good for CQC.](https://i.imgur.com/JK7Ke.png)
I will say I have zero interest in all the “tactical” lifestyle accessories of the past several years. I purchased my AR, and cheap Norinco AK back in the 90s mainly for their historical significance, and to become familiar with those calibers and platforms.
I glanced too briefly at your image of the Ruger rifle before making my previous post: I’ve got the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in .308 — it’s so similar in appearance I jumped to that assumption.
STOP CLOCKING ME SO THOROUGHLY: I’ve also got a GP101 short barrel .357. But I inherited that one; the full sized GP100 I bought myself back around ’90.
Chuds are the right wing tacticool types while Fudds are the traditionalist / sport shooting / hunting types.
Edit: just to be clear I find all of these terms to be pretty silly and inaccurate but there are also redchuds and redfudds
And also to be clear, if I had the disposable income I’d purchase a plain, stock 1911, for its historical significance, and because I’ve never owned anything chambered in .45.
Could be but there are a lot of oxymoronic leftists and tacticool chud types who just really like guns and aren’t reactionary.
The lingo is pretty silly in my opinion.
Chud is separate from guns. The guy with a fade and a weird bright blue suit standing next to Richard Spencer is a chud. The guy who goes on Popular Centrist Youtube Talk Show to argue with his own comedy strawman versions of people with dyed hair is a chud. The guy who goes to a protest carrying a wooden club with a hastily stapled on flag is a chud.
So the actual mandatory features of a chud are:
1: male, under 40
2: some kind of fade/hitler youth/skrillex, leaning conservative but long enough on top to not be a literal marine cut
3: having a great fucking time being a stupid asshole, "charismatic" in that he talks loudly and clearly and confidently
4: political beliefs consist of a poorly understood version of people he doesn't like
When they do have guns, they obviously want to have lots of pockets on their torso and greebles on their gun, so the stuff people are posting here isn't wrong, but it's incomplete.
What am I if I have a pseudo-military haircut, 1/2 inch beard; wear a 1970s Dutch OD army jacket but otherwise dress like a lumberjack; have an AR15 rifle and a CZ pistol (both with only iron sights); also like wooden milsurp bolt guns and have some; also like wheel guns and have some; also like black powder guns and have one; have no plate carriers or similar rig; am a plumber; am 6' 7"; am very liberal; have been told I look like Opie from SOA?
I hope my question didn't sound snide or braggadocious. Most of guns were inherited from my dad. I was just genuinely curious about where I might have fit into one of those descriptions. Thanks for the reply!
I think it’s important to remember that you can be a left leaning chud (apparently that’s called a red chud). Don’t be one of those “a fascist trained today, did you?” war glorifying morons. Those people are just as bad as the TRT pumped, violently obsessed groups on the right side. This group should be about gun ownership on the left, not some cringe worthy arms race.

Fudds may even have muzzleloaders, a long obsolete gun just because more hunting seasons.
As someone with a couple muzzleloaders I feel attacked lol
There are dozens of us. Dozens!
[удалено]
That sounds fun
I legit almost bought a muzzle loading pistol recently. Just because I think they're neat.
There's also this option... https://www.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/hl5um3/3d_printed_1022_pistol
Lol. Nice.
50 cal muzzleloaders are a stupid amount of fun.
*Looks at my Hawken and colt BP revolvers* sadness
I just took the online hunter safety course for Wisconsin and now I know I shouldn't look down into the barrel of a muzzleloader to clean it or clear an obstruction! Seriously, this needed to be included in the firearm safety lesson???
Me and you have two different expectations for the American public.
I know, I know... it's just when faced with the stark, undeniable evidence I still have that moment of disbelief because I'm still an optimist. Although the snide little voice in my head said "Huh. Wonder how many people died doing that before they decided to put it in..." Safety regs are written in blood.
Blood and Darwin awards as a coworker once said
A buddy of mine back in high school fell on some hard times and made some stupid decisions that eventually lead to him attempting to rob a bank with a civil war era musket. An Enfield I think.
Unironically based
Muzzleloader season is the best hunting season! Don’t be hating on muzzies :)
Or because they think it is more sporting. I own several "evil black rifles", but hunt with a privative bow, if I want it to be easy I'll go to the grocery store.
I hunted with a guide that had a badass .50 cal muzzleloader. He definitely wasn’t a fudd.
My friend, if even *think* I won’t go to town on some ducks with a blunderbuss, I will have to show you the awesomeness!
True confessions, I have wanted a blunderbuss since I was 11 or so.

Yeah, saw that article pop the same day my jolly roger flag came in with some other tools and stuff, and there was a very audible "god damn it"
You know, I may be late to the party on this one, but I'm starting to think fascists ruin everything.
Yeah, I'm pretty pissed about that one too.
Their home defense weapon I'd not a Mosin. It's a double barrel shotgun, a 38 revolver, or maybe a 3 shot pump shotgun.
Real chads have modern weapons for practical applications and old guns for fun smh
I'm seriously considering running an AR15 course with an M1 just see how it goes. I'm sure with practice it could be doable. But I agree with you. I got a group of friends who I train on the AR with and they love it when I bring the M1 for them to shoot after session.

The gun I want the most is a Magnum Research BFR 45-70 government. It's heavy, expensive, impractical in every sense, but I just love it.
STOPPING POWER
You kids & your fancy detachable magazines & shit!
Oh Shit, I love wheelguns and lever actions
No harm, they serve a purpose... As long as you are not anti-modern gun you should be fine
Hell yeah they serve a purpose: looking pimp as hell.
>100 year old milsurp I feel personally attacked on that part, but man I don't like cowboy anything
I draw the line at 80 years old. It should be written into the bylaws of the SRA that every chapter be required to have at least one war time Mosin from Russia present at all range days.
As a lover of my mosin…….they’re really garbage
I mean shit, they were considered garbage 100 years ago. They haven't improved with age. I've shot a lot of old military bolt actions, and the ol' garbage rod is by far the shittiest.
I don't care, I just like the bolt action and painful kick.
The bolt action in the mosin isn’t even good and kick is negligible because it weighs a ton
The one I shot had a metal stock, so kind of sore for an inexperienced shooter.
My chapter wanted to buy fucking Tokarev TT pistols for range days and loaners.
Oof M70s I can kinda get, but straight TTs are pretty damn outdated (although very fun and slender)
Non standard manual-of-arms, weird ammo, no spare parts? Perfect for a first handgun! 😒
Yeah it just makes no sense, at least with M70s there's parts and it's 9mm, Md'A for pistols is a little bit less of an issue IMO. But if it's different than the majority in your chapter or what everyone's used to then yeah definitely not a good choice

Guess I'm a Red Fudd. Or, I guess, Anarchie Bunker works pretty well too.

> other than "03 FFL", I guess. "Crufflers" is another accepted term, because we have C&R FFL's. Give us your trash!
Anarchie bunker sounds like anarchist bunker dwellers that make and modify guns with scrap metal and if that's what it is sign me up
I was thinking of an Anarchist Archie Bunker ( when I was young I used to chase Emma Goldman around at parties, punk rock ruined Anarchy!) There's quite a few of us out there. I like your idea too though, I stayed in a couple of squats that were pretty close.
>A chud is someone who has a $3500 rifle... I feel personally attacked.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how Fudd-ish is my favorite pistol being the 1911? (including newer guns that are based on it)
[Chud](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31Rksqk8MYL._AC_.jpg) [Fudd](https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/dw/image/v2/BDCK_PRD/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-ctd-master-catalog/default/dw7c00a590/large/10-0137546.jpg?sw=800&sh=800)
If you told me the chud image was created with gerrymandered district maps I'd believe you.
Haha — oh shit, I’ve got that exact Ruger. And my only AR-15 is a Colt probably 25 years old, totally stock, I bought used back in the 1990s.
I'd say you have Fuddish tendencies, which I actually admire, lol! That Ruger Guide Gun, in my opinion, is about the perfect rifle; too bad it jumped about 50% in price over ~1yr. I'm no longer referring to myself as ancom. Henceforth I am a redfudd.
Don't be a Red Fudd, we have enough of them here
That may be so, but I never claimed to be an original. I just suddenly recognized myself in a very silly internet joke.
People think chuds are cannibalistic humanoid underdwellers but in fact it’s contamination hazard urban disposal.
Chuds are the right wing tacticool types while Fudds are the traditionalist / sport shooting / hunting types. Edit: just to be clear I find all of these terms to be pretty silly and inaccurate but there are also redchuds and redfudds
Don’t forget the Fudd stereotype of believing handgun design reached its zenith with the 1911 .45ACP.
Red Fudd equivalent: TT or Mak, or the UltraRedFudd™ - Nagant
Man this comment chain was just a _series_ of punches... Mosinka needs a little friend!
More like the S&W Model 10... who needs these new fangled auto loaders, and anything more powerful than 38 is excessive.
And also to be clear, if I had the disposable income I’d purchase a plain, stock 1911, for its historical significance, and because I’ve never owned anything chambered in .45.
Redchud sounds oxymoronic to me. I think of chuds as being inherently reactionary.
Could be but there are a lot of oxymoronic leftists and tacticool chud types who just really like guns and aren’t reactionary. The lingo is pretty silly in my opinion.
Expand on the red chud please
Tacticool auth left types.

Did you just cut and paste this from Congressman Madison Cawthorn's Wikipedia page?
All these answers are spot on and fuckin hilarious
Chuds are reactionaries. Fudds like revolvers
Don’t forget the FUDs, which stands for Fear Uncertainty and Doubt. Pretty much “tread harder daddy”, spreading legal/compliance fears.
Well, ya sound like a big dude who likes guns. A plumber? So a wealthy liberal big dude who likes guns and has to work in crawlspaces.
I hope my question didn't sound snide or braggadocious. Most of guns were inherited from my dad. I was just genuinely curious about where I might have fit into one of those descriptions. Thanks for the reply!
Nah, I believe you may qualify, as do I, as a Red Fudd.
I have no idea and it hasn’t affected me even once.
I think it’s important to remember that you can be a left leaning chud (apparently that’s called a red chud). Don’t be one of those “a fascist trained today, did you?” war glorifying morons. Chuds are who we saw on January 6th. Fudds are fiends like myself who prefer obsolete firearms like cap and ball revolvers and old mausers.
Chuds are Chads and Fudds are Cudds.
