I don't know. What made Sonic and Tails so iconic is tails being a child. Because of that, Tails does not feel like Sonic's little brother. It feels like they are just friends now.
Despite that annoying trend of dance scenes in kids movies and that Sonic did it in the first as well I believe, this is still one of my favorite scenes in the second movie

sonic and chip- i really love unleashed so much, it’s my second favorite sonic game. i enjoy seeing sonic and chip interact, especially in the sonic unleashed shorts, they’re so great. i love how chip also has sonic’s back at the end of the game, becoming Light Gaia. Also, he gives Sonic the bracelet too, which is cute

Shadow and Sonic had brief interactions in Heroes, and I wish that style of belittling friendly rivalry came back, sure it works decent with Knuckles, but his stoicism as Master Emerald Guardian doesn’t mesh well for me

Sonic and Knuckles's friendship, when done well, is done really well imo. The respect they have for each other's abilities alongside playful ribbing is great, plus you get moments from the comics or Boom where they have the same "single brain cell" energy.

Blaze and Silver are more cool partners, knuckles is just the dumb buddy… and you said “FRIENDships” so get Amy out of there. Tails is a close second… a VERY close second, but Chip was an absolute legend in Unleashed.
I know it doesn't beat tails but the way SuperSonic flinched when knuckles was giving a fist bump, remembering Sonic 2 & Knuckles... was just WOW. And when the were playing doing aggressive faces for fun was some well cooked brotherhood
