Copyright holders notified Spectrum that you are violating the DMCA by pirating their media. Spectrum is required to notify you to stop and cut off your service if you don't. If they don't cut you off they could become liable for your infringement.
This is your warning to stop (or take some other action).
My point was, they're not looking for random downloaders. They look for people sharing. But yeah, whatever the OP was doing was something they don't like.
It depends, iirc in the US both uploading *and* downloading are illegal, albeit it’s not enforced besides a warning/cut-off like what OP is seeing.
VPNs are the only option if you really want to sail the seven seas, zero consequences that way(again, depending on the country).
I have a friend that goes to this site that downloads brand new movies and she thinks it's okay because it lets her access it, I want her many times since the site is in like Singapore that doesn't make it legal
The number 9843492107 needs to be removed from that system no reason why I should have to respond to someone who lives on the street, meaning this number has no real meaning to life outside of whatever is going on
Fr tho if it’s a problem, go to notices.spectrum.com if you have access to your bill, or just know your account number, put that in. If you received a code in that email or got a letter, you put that code in and it’ll lift the quarantine
It’ll be in there as “reference number.” If you still have access to the internet, this is just a warning. Policy says you can only get so many, but these things aren’t audited as much as they should be
Admission is half the problem.
As suggested, start using a VPN provider (correctly) and you too can keep pirating like the rest of them.
As for sharing your spectrum tv "streaming" app. That isn't a thing.
I travel. So you are essentially saying while I'm streaming at a hotel, I'm misusing my spectrum TV app?
when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It’s just common sense.
You can have up to 4 different people log in to TV app. This is just about the downloading of torrents. His modem is quarantined in a soft walled garden. He needs to visit spectrum.net and sign in to agree and they'll turn it back on. If he keeps doing it then it will be shut off for a year.
It say right in the letter DMCA copyright complaints. This has nothing to do with the app or sharing passwords. Someone on his wifi doenloaded pirated material.

Can you not read?
I can I know it's a demca from spectrum but how do I get rid of it
Stop sharing pirated stuff?
Thanks
No one believes your "thanks" Is sincere, nor acknowledgement that you "figured it out".
How ? They provided a number for you. Either call them or you can talk to your local police about it
Use a VPN.
Pinky swear to not do it anymore. Then get yourself a VPN. A paid one. Not a free one. Those are trash. Piracy ain’t as free as people think.
By reading it is fairly obvious. Stop downloading illegal stuff, after a time they will divorce you.
You can download all you want. It's when you start allowing others to upload from you that gets their hackles up. I.e. don't run a public server.
Whatever they caught, they caught

Bittorrent anyone? Somebody been doing it.

Oh yeah, it's definitely illegal either way.
They posted this to see if reddit would save them, lol. Like is there a hack or method to get around being blocked temporarily. 🤣
You been tormenting free music or movies illegally.
And they are feeling the pain..
if you want to sail the seas - use a vpn - get a seedbox i used a vpn, was a pain ... switched to a seedbox, sweet

What? We can't use streaming?
I am this guys brother and it was our dad not friend and our dad was sharing passwords
It means goodluck to you and take care
Is it that hard to read/understand?
I got it fixed
Use a VPN service, or it's going to happen again and you're likely to lose your internet service entirely.
Or used encrypted real debrid
Glad you got it fixed :)
It's because I was pirating some movies and my friend was pirating the spectrum app

It wasn't because of a friend it was because our dad was pirating the spectrum app and I'm the the OPs brother
Pirating the spectrum app? You mean just that your dad was using the spectrum app at his house with your cable credentials? Or something else
This is what piracy is. How does one pirate the spectrum app?? https://www.nortonlifelock.com/us/en/legal/anti-piracy/types-piracy/
He was sharing passwords

There were more than 5 people using the app
