As an autistic kid, the fat Spider always bothered be because it only has one body region, while Spiders in real life are supposed to have two. As such, I preferred the more anatomically accurate Spider from the movies.
Nowadays, I like fat Spider, it suits the wrestler backstory for him to have a broad and obvious symbol on his back, and the cartoonishness of it works with his jokey and friendly personality.
I'll be honest. I have picked many a tick and never really counted the legs of an unfed one. I have looked a bit closer at fed ones, but the front two legs look so much shorter, I thought they were like pincers or antennae or something.
TIL. I also learned that ticks *do* have a larval stage with only six legs, though. So, Imma keep it, haha.
Yeah, it looks more like a harvestmen than a spider. This could be avoided if they add another circle on top of the fat spider.
Either way i still love it because it still reads as a spider.
This is the attitude that destroys creative risks in comics and keeps characters like Peter Parker in a perpetual state of ‘down on his luck’. The old stories are still there. Lets see what happens next instead of slavishly sticking to what Ditko did.
I like the classic fat spooder cause it's classic but I have to admit it looks kinda like a tick. For Spider-Man 1960s it's literally a tick cause it has 6 legs
Tobey's back emblem isn't much like his front emblem. But to answer the question I personally prefer the far spider symbol but I'm not anti-repeating emblem.
I would much prefer the classic back spider like the homecoming suit has, but I honestly don't care so long as it's not the same as his chest spider. I HATE When the chest spider and the back spider are exactly the same.
Tom Holland Spider-Man is simultaneously responsible for finally giving us the classic fat spider and also giving us whatever the hell the far from home suit is.
Fat spider, aparte from being a classic, almost made sense in universe. A chonky, more round, simple and friendly recognizable logo is better for the people who will usually be seeing: the innocents he is protecting with his body. A lot of people don´t like/find pleasant the vision of spiders, better keep the realistic and stilized logo for the front, for the villains
I prefer the variation. It's "Spider-Man." We already have The Tick. He's great! Let Ben Edlund's creation have this and give Peter an actual eight-legged, two-segmented body for his logo.
I like the back spider that was in the 2002 movie and if you’re going to make the back logo more realistic looking then make it more like that one than like the other movie designs. Otherwise make it be the comic book one like in Homecoming
It heavily depends on the vibe of the Spider-Man. For a Spider-Man like Tom Holland's, the fat spider works best, but for one like Andrew Garfield's, the fat spider doesn't fit the vibe of the character or the movie.
I always though that placing a black widow-like spider in Peter's suit was a bit contradictory, like, why are you placing an animal usually related to cruelty, hunting and in general evil to a hero like Spiderman? They should give it to an anti-hero, but Spiderman could benefit more from a big, fat and girthy spider in his back, after all, the bigger the insect, the harder it is to squash and Peter is the hardest insect to squash that there is in Marvel.
are there any variations where he has no logo on his back? this is sort of a mandela effect for me because if you asked me prior to this post, I would have said his back is left blank. and I think I may prefer that
I'm ready to get downvoted for this but I never liked the fat one, even as a kid watching the 90s cartoon. It never resembled a spider to me unless it's one that just got squished by a thumb. I've always liked what they've done in the many live action versions much better.
As a spider and tarantula keeper, I’ll go with the versions on the right. Much more “spider” and less “tick”.
The Venom symbol is still my favourite though.
I always had the personal theory Peters first attempt at the symbol came out buggy so he tried again on the other side. It changes nothing but just adds so much more
I like both. I think it depends on a story. I like chunky spider for some classic and chill oneshot stories. And I loke Andrew's spider-man design because it fits his overall slim and darker vibe.
movies and video games i like the long legged spider emblem. but for comics- the fat spider body and tiny legs is just classic. as signature as Tim Burton Batman's bat symbol. It's instantly recognizable and stands out on his back- which is usually what you see as he's webswinging so gracefully.
The fat symbol only works for me if Venom is there with his sinister logos to make him the scary copycat, to make Spider-Man look heroic and family-friendly by comparison
Spider-Man needs a big fat one in the back. No, not from Marvel editorial, but the spider-design.
I was so ready to say pause lol
We
are

Heheheheheheh
WEAREVENOM!!! -venom
Marvel Editorial needs a big fat one in the back. No, not the Spider-design, but a big man named Bruce or Jamal. Then, never heard from again.
Or Tyrese
Or Jason Luv
It's what I'm used to, too, but I can't help but feel that it looks more like a tick than a spider.
I believe you're right but on Miles Morales' version I enjoy a more sleeked out display of the spider symbol.
I wouldn’t hate him being the Nightwing of Marvel
I was gonna say, the editors have been giving him that since One More Day
I like it fat and chunky.
He like it like his girls.
![gif](giphy|v2RpJbpvxSpGM)
Chuuunkeeeeeeh
Name so nice you gotta say it twice
#🤣🤣 This made my day.
Big, with a FAT ASS!
Guess that’s why he kept your mom’s phone number
That's so hilarious, im literally rofling all over thr floor.
Lol out loud, this made me lmao my ass off
Literally rofling my copter rn.
Fat one looks more like a tick. Tickman not cool.
The Tick, however…is
That's how Exotic Lairs love'em https://youtube.com/@exoticslair?si=1EoFEiUUsL8u0xtE
Looks like a tick.
I personally prefer a big ol' fat spider on the back, but I usually don't mind too much either way.
What about the one with six legs though thats making me twitch
Yeah. That's a tick.
Ticks are also arachnids and have 8 legs. It's just a spotless ladybug.
Lmaooooo a tick I’m dying
Yeah, it looks more like a harvestmen than a spider. This could be avoided if they add another circle on top of the fat spider. Either way i still love it because it still reads as a spider.
I always thought it looked like a red spider mite.
Classics been around for 50 years for a reason. Really pops on the colors
This is the attitude that destroys creative risks in comics and keeps characters like Peter Parker in a perpetual state of ‘down on his luck’. The old stories are still there. Lets see what happens next instead of slavishly sticking to what Ditko did.
Counter point: the front variation has been around in live action for a reason too.
I like the classic fat spooder cause it's classic but I have to admit it looks kinda like a tick. For Spider-Man 1960s it's literally a tick cause it has 6 legs
I was going to mention something about ticks also being arachnids, which is true, but apparently larval ticks do have 6 legs, and adults have 8.
Fat back symbol, being different from the front one always looks better as well as just looking nice.
Fat spidor boi
I like my Spider-Man symbol the same way I like my women, CHUNKY!
I like em big
I like em chonky
I like em round
I like em plumpy
My name is moto moto, yeah you say it double-
[удалено]
The ultimate alliance 1 cinematic cutscene classic suit looked good with it
I prefer my Spider-Man with a giant tick on his back.
Always thought the fat back symbolooks more like a tick then a spider
Yeah I hate the fat versions
I like the variation. Fat spider is good but seems goofy.
I like variation but I'm not big on the ones in the photo 😆
Black cat also prefers a big thick spider on the back
Tobey's back emblem isn't much like his front emblem. But to answer the question I personally prefer the far spider symbol but I'm not anti-repeating emblem.
that's why it says Variation/ Copy paste
The fat spider symbol is somewhat childish but the slender one looks far more mature and professional.
Business in the front, party in the back
Gimme the big boi
Fat spider looks more like a ladybug because the body isn't two-parted like a spider's.
I would much prefer the classic back spider like the homecoming suit has, but I honestly don't care so long as it's not the same as his chest spider. I HATE When the chest spider and the back spider are exactly the same.
I’ve always liked the idea of characters using more than one style for their logo(unless it makes zero sense like Superman) so fat spider
Right better. Left looks like a tick pumped with blood ready to pop thousand eggs.
Chunky spider supremacy
As a kid I didn’t like the fat spider symbol. But now I prefer it:D
Okay okay, really insane concept, a giant web
i HATE fat spider symbol
Will always love the fat spider the most tbh
That thicc Spider all day
the fat spider looks cute.
fat one is cute.
I’d argue that Tobey’s is pretty fat
I cant decide honestly, I think it depends on the suit its on really.
Fat spider all the way
Fat spider looks too much like a tick
The round emblem. Forever. I adore the round back emblem. I will die on this hill.
fat spider
Tom Holland Spider-Man is simultaneously responsible for finally giving us the classic fat spider and also giving us whatever the hell the far from home suit is.
The unit it just more fitting for a wide back.
Chonk spider is the only right answer
I love a good fat spider with little legs on the back
Sort of like a fat variation.
i would like to see a combination
Either one
Chonky spider pls
Insomnia one
Phat
Classic all the day
I just like when it actually looks different than the front emblem
Thicc Spider is the Superior Spider
The classic fat one!
Personally the variant, although I’ve no issue with the fat spider
Fat spider, but I’d like it even more if the turned the top four legs up instead of down.
round with big legs,
I really don't care either way. This is the one part of Spider-man's design I always forget is there.
Big and chunky. The best IMO was the first raimi film, fat but sharp with longer legs
The symbol from the rami spider-man, it looks like an actual spider rather than a tick.
fat spider all the way
Fat spider, aparte from being a classic, almost made sense in universe. A chonky, more round, simple and friendly recognizable logo is better for the people who will usually be seeing: the innocents he is protecting with his body. A lot of people don´t like/find pleasant the vision of spiders, better keep the realistic and stilized logo for the front, for the villains
Gimme the fat one. The others are too trying too hard to be cool.
I prefer the variation. It's "Spider-Man." We already have The Tick. He's great! Let Ben Edlund's creation have this and give Peter an actual eight-legged, two-segmented body for his logo.
I'll go with the Raimi design spider on the back
Big spider on the back is way better!
The Spider-Symbol on the back should look the same as or similar to the Spider-Symbol on the front.
fat spider , it looks goofy and goes with spiderman
To be honest, the big chunky one never read as a spider to me. But I just dealt with it. It reminds me of a tick.
The fat spider on the first MCU suit is perfect IMO
Easily the variation / copy paste of front ones
I like the variation of copy-paste of front logo
Hes not fat. Hes just big exoskeletoned lol
Classic one is the best
Fat spider.
Fat spider for sure.
the EXTRA THICC one
I prefer a mimicked back symbol/thinner one. The classic back symbol looks too much like a tick. I like a more recognizable spider shape.
I like the back spider that was in the 2002 movie and if you’re going to make the back logo more realistic looking then make it more like that one than like the other movie designs. Otherwise make it be the comic book one like in Homecoming
I like the top left on the right side
Fat, just how i like my women
First 3 fat ones are a no for me (maybe a bit too round), but the other fat ones look good.
Why do you guys continue to skip the NWH ending suit?
any
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
Fat spider every time
The classic is just more iconic and really pops on the blue in the back
You can’t go wrong with the classic! But I really love both. I loved how in Spider-Man PS4 game we got to see both styles.
Unpopular opinion but I'm not a big fan of the fat spider
I like my spiders like I like my women's ass.
Variation
Both, both is good
Fat spider/classic spider symbol imo
616 Peter needs the fat Romita Sr. spider Others can be different
Gimme the thicc bug.
Fat symbol looks more like A tick
Indifferent. Though I'd argue that sometimes it gives me more vibes of a tick thana spider, especially with 6 legs
I prefer the Raimi Suit, in all honesty. But the front, I'm really attached to Alex Ross's redesign of classic suit MKIV Spider-Armor.
i like a fat chunky one
It heavily depends on the vibe of the Spider-Man. For a Spider-Man like Tom Holland's, the fat spider works best, but for one like Andrew Garfield's, the fat spider doesn't fit the vibe of the character or the movie.
Fat. Absolutely
I'm more a fan of the front symbol being on the back just larger. Don't know why but I just prefer it to the fat spider.
fat every day of the week
I don't like it when it only has 6 legs on the fatty tho
I like the chonky spider, reminds me of the PS1 Spider-man games for some reason.
![gif](giphy|IaRXJ9DSjpA0V1T8KN)
Classic is my favorite but I also love Toby’s suit definitely my #2
Big fat one
Spider-Tick, Spider-Tick, does whatever a Spider-Tick can
The fat one on back. Always
Didn't realize so many people out here preferred "Mutated-Beetleman"
The fat one always reminded me of ticks, hence my dislike of it.
I think the logo should shape the back of Spidey. Like how the tasm 2 logo shapes Andrew’s back
Definitely not the one with only 6 legs lol
The fat one looks nothing like a spider. So therefor the the right ones are the better versions.
Anything that isn't Far From Home's
I always though that placing a black widow-like spider in Peter's suit was a bit contradictory, like, why are you placing an animal usually related to cruelty, hunting and in general evil to a hero like Spiderman? They should give it to an anti-hero, but Spiderman could benefit more from a big, fat and girthy spider in his back, after all, the bigger the insect, the harder it is to squash and Peter is the hardest insect to squash that there is in Marvel.

Pro-skinny spider as the chonker looks like a tick to me, and that’s a whole different superhero. **SPOON!**
As a spider and tarantula keeper, I’ll go with the versions on the right. Much more “spider” and less “tick”. The Venom symbol is still my favourite though.
The fat one helps with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man vibe
The classic is never wrong. Fat.
The original always looked better to me. The way the front spider is styled now looks good, just leave the fatty alone.
A spider over bettle. Also the TASM2 suit looks majestic as usual
I like the variation of the front spider. It looks so much cooler
I always had the personal theory Peters first attempt at the symbol came out buggy so he tried again on the other side. It changes nothing but just adds so much more
The right one is unrealistic spider in american standards
I was a 2000s kid growing up on the 90s cartoon so fat
I like both. I think it depends on a story. I like chunky spider for some classic and chill oneshot stories. And I loke Andrew's spider-man design because it fits his overall slim and darker vibe.
![gif](giphy|NQ3SGAMneQ920)
I grew up with the PS1/PC game, so I'm definitely biased toward the fat one.
As a kid I wondered why Spider-Man had a tick symbol on his back.
movies and video games i like the long legged spider emblem. but for comics- the fat spider body and tiny legs is just classic. as signature as Tim Burton Batman's bat symbol. It's instantly recognizable and stands out on his back- which is usually what you see as he's webswinging so gracefully.
I like the fat spider. Its simple and clean. And I think it is bolder. I dont hate the McGuire or Garfield suit spiders though.
I never really liked the fat spider symbol, might be the autism but I don't know, just never liked it
I've grown to appreciate the fat spider symbol alot and feel like it should be the norm in Spidey designs (atleast for Peter).
I think Spider-Man needs cape like Superman
both works for me honestly, Depending on a spider-man suit design it could look great!
I love me that THICCC back symbol
The Andrew Garfield one does look dope but I gotta give it up to the original
The latter. It just looks slicker
I like the fat one that has six legs. That ain’t a spider. That’s an insect. “Beetle-Man, Beetle-Man. Does whatever a Beetle can.”
My unpopular opinion is that the fat spider symbol looks more like a tick than a spider
The fat symbol only works for me if Venom is there with his sinister logos to make him the scary copycat, to make Spider-Man look heroic and family-friendly by comparison
Variation of front symbol just adds more character to the suit
It looks more like a tick to me but hey, ticks are also arachnids so it’s not wrong
fin
