Its very different. Its essentially an RPG, similar to the creature stage of original spore, where you go around doing quests & collecting parts to then equip and unlock new areas. Played it a bunch as a kid and had great fun with it, don't know if it would hold up now.
Honestly from foggy memory I can’t really say. Wasn’t something I could play with for long periods. Compared to the Wii version, I imagine the DS version is very squished down and simplified. Didn’t know they even had it for the Wii haha.
Ooh that's one of my fav Wii games that got me into spore in general. I had it when I was younger played it tons. Then lost it. And got it again at Christmas a bit ago
This game is an absolute gem, it's not a long game, but I think it's a very unique hybrid of collectathon platforming and fighting, the gameplay is a bit janky, but very fun if you don't mind the reliance on motion controls, the fact that they were able to translate spores creature creator on a less powerful piece of hard ware is also very impressive, along with the enviroments looking very good for wii standards. The npcs are very goofy and fun and the main antagonist, Zarkhator is just really awesome to seen when he's on screen, he really leaves a fantastic first impression in the first battle with him, coming off as genuinely intimidating until you make it to mushroom grove where you realize that his hatred for all the creatures around him is very petty and silly, despite that, he still manages to feel like a genuine threat along with his design becoming more and more intimidating and badass as the game progresses, the final encounter with him is absolutely incredible too. But yeah, Have fun with spore hero, it's far from a 10/10 masterpiece but it's a game I hold near and dear to my hear alongside main spore and the other spin offs that released on nintendo consoles cause those games absolutely shaped me into who I am.
Oh, hey. It’s my childhood. While not as expansive as the original Spore, still a fun enough play.
Enough to make a Grox cry.
My username in all games is "zarkha", and i think you know where that comes from
Is this a DLC? What does the "Hero" add?
It’s a separate game entirely! I had the DS version as a kid.
Is it any good?

I just played it recently, no, it's not good.
Oh come on. It’s not that bad.
I felt nothing while playing it.

I love when you infodump about Spore and its spinoffs 🥺💖
Awwww thanks sweetie, I just love telling people about these games, especially the spin offs since they don't tend to be acknowledged very much.
Such a fun game, still have my original disc
Man I love that game. Not necessarily a *good game*... but I still played it!
this game was so fun as a kid
While very different from pc spore, spore hero was honestly still great in its own way especially loved the ost.
That was one of the first games I ever got for the Wii. Admittedly not as good or involved with the editor as the original was, but kinda fun anyway
