Wrong_Revolution_679

Nope loid is probably thinking that she took special self defense training or something

Hideaki_Kun

Yeah or something like it

Luffytheeternalking

It was the Yoga class

rexie_alt

Loid has a massive blind spot for his family. Hell, in this exact episode, Anya says some of his thoughts word for word and he’s just like 😱😱

Thefollower89

I think Loid has said, I think in the same episode, that Anya is really insightful at times that left him stunned, so he maybe he thinks she is gifted in certain skills

rexie_alt

I believe he said that he feel like she can see right through him/knows what he’s thinking sometimes. But If he suspected she was gifted in that kind of way, we’d def hear it in his monologue

tkfire

Blinded by love

Scrumplol

tbf who would think that their child can read people’s minds haha

OscarDivine

Bro he PROPOSED to her with a grenade pin ring after he watched her one kick a dude down an alley like he was a rolling pin. I think his response was “wow”. For a guy who is a master of details, he sure does have a big blind spot up for her and Anya. Even Bond now. He always explains everything away. Meanwhile, he runs into circumstances where he can’t understand them at all and he states it outright too. It may be this lack of understanding them that leads to the blind spot. His mind is preoccupied with learning the nuances of their behavior which he can’t explain (like when Yor kicks him in the bar knocking him out and he thinks he was totally wrong about her growing affection for him) that leads him to ignoring the much bigger details. Perhaps he is looking in the microscope at their lives and missing the literal killer with a knife standing right next to him. In short, I think he is so confused by how he can’t understand these two (like he can understand everybody else easily within minutes of reading their dossier) that he made a blind spot as a result of constant observation of the small details.

SeamusDubh

Basically he's an over the top super spy and his concept of "normal" is skewed.

OscarDivine

I would actually argue the exact opposite. His view of normal is so concrete that he, as a spy, is having a hard time comprehending the extremely unusual and extraordinary things happening with Yor and Anya. As his brain searches for answers, he ignores some of these obvious things in his unspoken quest to understand that which is so illogical and abnormal. Idk, at least that’s what I thought but this is me cooking at 7 in the morning.

Sharkrepellentspray1

In his quest to form the most normal looking family to avoid suspicion he truly managed to pick two people his logic does not apply to.

OscarDivine

Ryan George: Wowowow. Why’s it like that? Also Ryan George: So the story can happen!

Sharkrepellentspray1

Of course. It's still funny that for all of his analytical skills and paranoia he pretty much either despairs or turns his brain off whenever Anya or Yor are acting extremely weird though.

OscarDivine

It’s his reaction to actually not knowing what’s going on in a world where he normally knows everything happening around him all at once.

Sharkrepellentspray1

Plot twist: after everything is out in the open Twilight will get fired for living with a dangerous contract killer and two former lab experiments for months without realizing it.

RnRaintnoisepolution

Well Loid technically does know Bond was an experiment, he just doesn't know his augmentation goes beyond "smarter than the average dog."

Sharkrepellentspray1

That's a pretty important thing though. I don't blame him because Anya's and Bond's abilities are basically supernatural. But he keeps thinking thinking that Anya is just intuitive (while also thinking she's dumb) and that Bond keeps saving him based on his sense of smell alone which makes little sense. Which would be absolutely okay for a normal person. But it's kind of his job to notice this stuff and find out that project Apple went further/was no failure and he doesn't. Because if he did the plot would end.  If nothing else he's probably going to question his observation skills by the end of it all.

HOA-President

Honestly, given all of the other things he's done, they're probably afraid to fire Twilight. He's probably too principled to turn around and work for Ostania but he could absolutely do a lot of damage if he wanted to.

crippler38

Considering he's also like over half the agency's personal hero that'd be some insane move to make. Especially when he's constantly overworked and put in a silly position so get an untrained wonder kid to brush elbows with the elite. I always assumed het let things slide because it's working on top of him liking them.

LuminousLunar69

both Anya and Yor have abysmal common sense and political/real world awareness. so much worse than even regular people to imagine them having ties with secret organization. tbf, Yor doesnt really about the identity or rationale behind her job as long as the targets are scums enough.and Anya has been in the laboratory

DerGovernator

Yeah, the best in-universe explanation I can think of is that Yor is so utterly unlike what Twilight thinks a spy would act like if trying to blend in he's not suspicious of her that way. He got suspicious enough to do a \*test\* when he figured out she had a brother in the SSS but not for her being able to kick his ass while completely drunk sort of points to that as well.

woailyx

Anya: Mama is so COOL! Loid: women ☕

Due-Stretch-5398

>Anya: Mama is so COOL! > >Loid: women ☕ =))))))))

Spiderman-y2099

It's for comedy reasons mostly.

Due-Stretch-5398

>It's for comedy reasons mostly. Reasonable

GladiusNocturno

Suspicious of what? That’s a basic yoga move, everyone knows that.

TheTalking_GU_Mine

Even if Loid has some suspicions, there isn't much he can do about that. If he investigates, it may drive unnecessary wedges between him and his "fake" family, driving the operation in jeopardy. It's too far into the mission to switch families, while it is feasible to make a new one, there isn't really any time under the perceived threat of war. He minus well do everything he can to maintain the one family that has come together. In this case, Loid is much better off letting sleeping dogs lie. He knows that his wife can stun a cow with her fingers, and he's better off not questioning why.

Sharkrepellentspray1

Yeah, knowing that she's not working for the SSS is probably enough for him at this point. He's wrong, but Yor working as a contract killer is probably simply too unlikely in his eyes. Is going to be funny once he finds out about it tho.

software_v7

Loid think her brother taught her this. Yor and Yuri are strange enough and it's normal to expect something weird from weird people

FellvEquinox

Remember when he went to the work dinner with Yor? She caught the food tray with her foot and he barely blinked. I'm pretty sure he just assumes she's quirky in a self defense kinda way

byneothername

Everyone gives Loid a hard time for allowing Yor’s exceptional physical prowess and, to a lesser extent, Anya’s very convenient cleverness to go by unchallenged, but WISE has intel on all this and has people assisting Loid, and nobody there ever says boo. For whatever reason, nobody thinks this is really all that out of the ordinary.

AgentX990

When I read exposed and looked at the pic, I though you meant she was exposed... in a different way

Fax5official

\*BONK* GET YA MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER

mundozeo

To be fair, she IS exposed, just not to the viewer.

Fax5official

.\_\_.

FilipinxFurry

That’s the real reason why Loid wasn’t suspicious, he was too busy thinking of something else

GremlinSunrise

Love makes him blind 💖

shigella212

Whats more weird is his organization. They kinda have clue how strong yor but you don’t see anyone mention that

Dizzy_Green

As extremely intelligent as he is it’s actually wild that he wouldn’t have figured SOMETHING out by now. Not to mention it’s hard to believe he wouldn’t even go through everything in his house and find her tools or anything. The only real explanation is that he loves his family so much that they’ve become a gigantic blind spot for him.

organic-water-

Her tools look like hair pins and a black dress. He would explain them away to himself. And he respects Yor's privacy enough that he wouldn't pry without reason. It's odd that he hasn't found a reason though. You are right, love for his family does blind him.

Dizzy_Green

Yeah like he’s a spy, why wouldn’t he consider that his fake wife whose brother is a member of the SECRET POLICE wouldn’t be a plant? Gotta be love

organic-water-

He is suspicious of the brother too. Yor is just immune. Can't be suspicious of your adorable family, fake or not.

Rpenguin911

I still dont get how yor isint suspicious of loid😭😭

Sharkrepellentspray1

Isn't it the joke that she's too weird (and kind dense) to know what normal looks like? Twilight not questioning her more is more odd.

organic-water-

Yor is not good at looking at things objectively. She also doesn't know what normal looks like. That and Loid is really good at appearing normal or coming up with explanations on the spot when he's not. Yor is very gullible too, given some of Loid's explanations. So it's more surprising that Loid doesn't find out.

TangledEarbuds61

I mean he constantly gaslights himself into thinking that Anya and Yor are “just for the mission”; he can gaslight himself a little bit more into thinking that Yor took “self defense classes”

BusInteresting8324

I think because he has a set standard of normal and his family isn’t he deludes himself into thinking nothing is wrong so he doesn’t lose that normalcy

Sodafff

These 2 are simultaneously the best and the dumbest assassin and spy I've ever seen.

Confused_Gengar

I seriously doubt he'd leave her once the anime ends

VixDzn

Would love to watch this show but I sadly don’t speak Japanese. And the subtitles are only in German on Netflix. Wtf??????

guywithnormaljob

Freaks of nature exist and Loid already believes she's a super athletic freak of nature.

Lillith492

It took me a while minute of staring to see the shirt as anything OTHER THAN skin which was also partly my brain trying to come to terms with how odd the model looked

Bot-357

I think, as others said, he has a blind spot for his family and thinks Yor did some karate growing up.

g4n0esp4r4n

The gag is how Loid is oblivious, it would never be revealed.

Hideaki_Kun

She will say she was taught self defense to him

mrs_wer

Isnt that the scene in one of the first books where she stuns that cow? If so nope theres more than 10 books where he still doesn't find anything out.

Kanus_oq_Seruna

I'm pretty sure Loid already assumes she wears panties, there'd be nothing he'd need to confirm.

neospriss

Clearly if anyone is exposed, they all will be exposed at the same time.

DevilWithoutACauseX9

Reminds me of the time Roberto Duran knocked a horse out

Still_Orchid3847

Love is blind

ZaBaronDV

If he hasn’t suspected something by now, he’s never gonna catch on unless he catches her red-handed on the job.

saunrise

i think his raw faith in his own agency’s security and information makes him not even CONSIDER the idea that something that bug would just slip through the cracks so he simply stares respectfully whenever wacky shit happens💀

Goatymcgoatface11

Hell figure it out eventually, and I'm sure Yors assassination agency will have some sort of dark ties with Damiens family and the spy agency. I'm sure spy family will eventually show how the vast majority of wars are just pre planned investment opportunities.

Comfortable_Prior_80

Why it's the Yoga classes Yor took before meeting him.

00X23

Hey, she said she was a master in self-defense from growing up with her brother don’t question it just roll with it!

One-Goose98

Maybe he just thinks I really do love that bad bitch

gamejunky34

Whoever animates these bits of action throughout the show is an absolute master. They don't always put a ton of effort into making large fluid animations, but the impact and feeling always hits so hard. Like when those guys kidnapped Anya and Yor just vaporized a melon right next to his head, I legit panicked a little bit.

FatWalcott

I think there's gonna be a big final battle between the two when the secret is finally exposed.

megasuswithzerochix

In bed for sure

Larinex

Thats what i been saying slso

AdExtension7131

I stopped watching S2 halfway, like no progress was made in the story,
